Two sanctioned events. The BCAT Memphis Team Camp and the BCAT Top 100 highlighted the past two weekends with some exciting basketball in the Volunteer State. College coaches arrived in masses for the two events. Here are some standouts who caught my eye with their efforts in either or both of the events, starting with the Class of 2025. Players will be listed in alphabetical order.

Christian Brown

A young player with a multitude of gifts. Length and athleticism catch your eye at once but he has a skill set already that belies his age bracket. He plays hard, a motor that is already at full bore which will benefit him tremendously in the long run. He can score inside with a quick move and a nice lefty stroke, he can put it on the deck and score in the lane and his outside shot is serviceable, albeit deliberate and he must quicken that release. He shows toughness and a bit of grit as well. He doesn't mind contact and is a player who will move up the charts in rapid fashion once his physical attributes align with his basketball acumen.

Cade Capps

His basketball IQ is on display every time he steps on the floor. He understands the nuisances of the game, the flow and tempo of the offensive set and has the skill set to score at each level. He has very good length and has excellent handles in a tight space. His shooting touch is unorthodox but his follow-through is textbook. He plays with patience on most occasions but his youth tends to catch up at times with some ill-timed shots or possession-killing plays. He can be a match-up nightmare with his overall skill level. He has the length to punish a small guard in the post and is a better athlete than he appears. He is a gym rat who relishes his time on the floor.

Damian Cox
St. Benedict (Cordova, TN)

This kid is unique and special. He shows poise and leadership at this early stage of his basketball development. He has a natural feel for the game, he sees the floor so well, finding open cutters and making winning plays with or without the ball in his hands. He has amazing ball skills, he stays out of trouble keeping his head up and seeing the entire landscape of the play. His shooting touch is very nice, his release will need to quicken as the opponents get tougher and more athletic. He has a tendency to fade away on his shot, just stop doing that please. His body is decent for his age group but he does find himself bumped off his path when making drives to the hoop, he doesn't mind the contact mind you, but once his lower body fills out that will not be an issue. Here is a kid who will be one of the ones we talk about for several years to come.

Tyren Fisher

Powerful youngster was a monster on the interior scoring and snatching rebounds at this early stage of his basketball maturation. I love his effort and determination, yes a motor we can all be proud of and a trait that will get him noticed as the years roll along. He creates space for himself with his strong lower body, he is a lefty which gives him that advantage inside. He goes hard after caroms, once, twice as many times as it takes to secure the board. He keeps possessions alive on the offensive end with this relentless effort. He showed he could knock down the short jumper and he is just fearless. Older, stronger it did not phase him on the floor. He competed for every possession and that's what we like.

Ty Glasper

My curiosity was peaked for watching my man as I had seen him several times against his local competition and was truly curious how he would fare against bigger, stronger more athletic kids in the other parts of the state. I was pleasantly surprised by the results. Ty was very solid using his build to make plays in the lane or off the dribble. He showed he could knock down an open shot with his lefty trigger from anywhere mid-range to the extra point line. He is not super explosive but he understands how to create space and scoring chances for himself and others. I would like to see him more engaged when the ball is not in his hands, showing he could move without the ball and get open scoring looks. He has a unique understanding of how to play and this will only benefit him as his prep career continues onward and upward.

Cortez Graham

My goodness, what a nice crop of young players they have at Hillsboro High School in Nashville. Graham can be special with his combination of length, size, skill level and demeanor. He has excellent handles and is adept at getting himself to the bucket. He can knock down the open shot and he plays with a confidence that coaches covet. He is unselfish and can play either guard spot if needed. He glides on the court and has a nice quick first step. He loves to compete as you can see when watching him play. Here is a kid who will be on the whiteboards of every college coach in the area in a very short time. Mark it down.

Jeremy Jackson
Columbia Academy (Columbia, TN)

The superlatives were reigning down from the coaches in attendance about the future of this emerging prospect. "If he can just develop a shot to go along with this skill level, he will be on everybody's radar", said a very long-standing college coach. Jackson has a swagger, he competes, he has a solid build for his age bracket and he has length as well. As he matures the body language, the not-all-the-time motor and the workable outside stroke are areas where his consistency will need to come together. He needs to develop this confidence in his outside shot, once he gets this into his arsenal he will be one of the best players in the state regardless of class.

Jayden Jones
Goodpasture (Madison, TN)

A special talent to say the least. Jones is a gifted athlete who competes hard and doesn't back down to anyone. He will drop it in your grill if challenged on the interior and he comes to play on every possession. He is a dedicated rebounding force, he clears the ball and runs the floor. Rebounding is sheer will and he has this determination to get every carom regardless of the shooter. His outside shot from the mid-range is decent. He gets an amazing rise on his shot and he shoots from the top of his release. As he ventures out to the perimeter his form changes and he will need to work on this skill. He is not a confident ball handler so in spite of the natural gifts, he has there are still areas of the game for him to make progress. He will be a name that everyone who follows this state will know if they don't already.

George McIntyre
Brentwood Academy (Brentwood, TN)

Injuries kept him out of the Top 100 but he had a nice showing at the team camp series in Memphis. Long and athletic he excels on the gridiron as well. He comes from an athletic background and his above-average basketball intelligence is a sight to behold. He is smooth with the ball, he uses the head fake and the change of speed dribble to get easy scoring chances at the rim or to move a step and launch his picture-perfect stroke from deep. He has long arms and plays with emotion and passion. He doesn't get rushed and plays under control simply dictating tempo when the ball is in his possession. Regardless of which sport he chooses, he has the ability to do both, he will be a major attraction with his burgeoning repertoire of skills on the hardwood.

Myles Sidney
Lipscomb Academy (Nashville, TN)

The athletic kid that was engaging and played with emotion on both ends of the floor. He used his impressive length to defend and was very good with the help defense, blocking several shots from the weak side. He has amazing length and he attacks the basket playing downhill in transition. He has a nice feel for the game and likes to compete. His best basketball is not far away as his body matures and his skill level continues its upward trajectory. He showed he could score on the block with quick moves and using his length, he pulled up from the foul line and dropped some short jumpers or used the head fake to get inside buckets. His outside game will be an area that he needs to work on. His confidence level from that area of the floor was not his biggest strength. Love his attitude and motor, the future is bright for this one, mark it down.
