Peach State Standouts from the 2022 Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions, Pt. IV
SUWANEE—A week has gone by, and Gibbons is still on our minds here at HoopSeen HQ. Over the last few days, we’ve been spotlighting some of the standout players from right here in the Peach State, and we’re back to bring you some more names that made impressions on us.

The 2024 Georgia Stars backcourt is one of the most fun I’ve seen this season because they run out a stable of guards that can all put points on the board in a hurry. Greco is part of that group of Stars. Able to thrive both on and off the ball, Greco can fill several roles for the Stars. He’s a high-level scorer that can get hot from 3-point range or use his strength and athleticism to finish around the basket and through contact. For his position, Greco is a fantastic rebounder. He routinely contributes handfuls of boards in addition to filling the stat sheet with points. - Josh Tec
Mullins has used this spring to firmly plant himself on radars. The 6-foot-5 guard is beaming with upside, and it feels like he’s just tapping into his potential. He fits into how the Allstars play so well because he’s tremendous when it comes to moving without the ball and freeing himself on cuts to the basket that lead to easy points. In this Atlanta Allstars program, guys like Mullins progressively improve and find themselves fielding offers from coaches at the next level. It’s an annual thing. If we’re looking up in a year and Mullins has emerged as an in-demand prospect, I won’t be surprised at all. - Josh Tec
I’ve been high on Lue’s upside. Physically imposing and long, he looks like a man amongst boys out on the floor. He uses his strength well around the basket whether it be rebounding, scoring or protecting the rim. He has that gritty inside game that I always equate to Big East basketball. I also love his potential as a perimeter player. I’ve seen him have some good shooting games in the past, and I think that skill will keep improving. He’s already a next-level prospect that coaches should familiarize themselves with, but as his overall game continues to develop and expand, he could be a significant stock riser sooner than later. - Josh Tec
I love Thomas’ toughness and mentality. In close-game scenarios, it helps to have a guard that you can give the ball to and trust that they’ll make a play. Thomas has that in him. When the lights are the brightest, he’s a guy that can create a bucket for himself or others. Thomas scores it well in a variety of ways, and he’s a guy that can hit tough shots in a pinch. He announced himself in a significant way this past high school season with McDonough, and I think that’s just the beginning of what’s to come for the rest of the year out of Thomas. - Josh Tec
With a state title on his resume now, the 6-foot-7 forward should draw more eyeballs than he currently does. McDaniels catches your attention right away because of his uniquely long frame, wide shoulders and quick step footwork. If you’re looking for a player who could make a massive jump from junior season to senior season, put the Columbus, GA native on your short list. He brings a lot of intrigue to the table. - Justin Young
