Top Underclassmen Performers from Bama Jam, Pt II
HOOVER, AL—The Finley Center was a hotspot for talented underclassmen this past weekend at HoopSeen’s Bama Jam. We discussed some of the best of the best earlier in the week when we released part I of this list, and we want to keep the discussion going with some more of the young guns who caught our attention.
6-foot-4 guard Bryce Dawson definitely had a big weekend playing for Tri-City Elite 15u squad. Dawson is fierce on the court and plays with a lot of fire as one can tell he’s all about competing. He is not a player that any defender wants to meet at the rim because his attacks to the basket are explosive and will not hesitate to put someone in the rim. Dawson runs the floor extremely well and has quick hands on defense. He shouldn’t be taken lightly from the three because he has one of the cleanest shots for an underclassman. Dawson put on a stellar performance at BamaJam and we can’t wait to see him on another HoopSeen stage. - DC
Anderson Green is one of the players that came on my radar in an emphatic way. When I sat down to watch this EAB group on Saturday, Green caught fire from the 3-point line, finishing with 21 points on five-made 3-pointer. He replicated that performance the next day too. His shot was as pure and consistent as I saw all weekend. Go ahead and mark Green down in your notes moving forward. EAB’s 15U team won their bracket in a convincing fashion. With his ability to shoot the ball, Green will end up winning plenty more games in his future. - Josh Tec
Garcia was one of the first prospects I got to see over the weekend. As soon as I walked into the building, I took a seat at his game. It was a random choice, and it worked out well for me. Garcia is a bigger guard that can absolutely fill it up. He’s a dead-eye shooter from deep, and he uses his size well when in attack mode. He can slot in all over the perimeter as a shooting threat, and he can serve as the primary ball-handler. What I loved most about Garcia’s game was the confidence and swag he played with. He’s a guy that I can’t wait to see more from over the coming years. - Josh Tec
If we’re discussing Teasley as one of the next really good guards to come out of Georgia in a few years, I won’t be surprised. He has a lot of promise and impressed over the weekend in Bama. He’s a floor general. Teasley does a fantastic job when it comes to running things for this Canes group. He’s great at dissecting defenses and drawing help defenders, which allows him to use his good decision-making to find the open shooter in the corner or the big man on the block for an easy two points. Teasley is a double-figure scoring threat whenever he steps on the floor too. - Josh Tec
Tri-City 15u team had another guard that was putting in work this past weekend with Jacoby Hill. He made his presence felt at this year’s Alabama Preview Camp so we were already familiar with how good his game was. Hill has a quick first step to compliment his handles, his ability to change speeds attacking the lane is truly remarkable. He can shoot the three and shows great promise in progressing to an elite playmaker. He has great awareness on defense and plays with nonstop energy. Hill was definitely in his bag this weekend averaging 18ppg. - DC
