After a strong start to the event Friday, Saturday did not let up. It proved to be an action packed day full of good hoops. I walked away extremely impressed with a few players and teams. Here are my take aways from day 2 of the Tip Off. 

Hello, Mr. Bailey

Whew - this kid is the real deal. Airious Bailey is a 6-foot-8 forward out of McEachern high school that can absolutely go. He primarily played with AOTs 16U squad, but saw some minutes with the 17U team as well. He is an immediate impact player. Once he goes to the bench, his absence is immediately felt. Bailey plays with an incredibly high motor - which is the aspect of his game that stands out the most to me. The way he attacks the boards is fun to watch. He is able to get 10+ points each game off of simple put backs. While he can dominate the paint, he showed his ability to make plays out on the perimeter, too. He was hitting pull ups off the dribble and making plays off the bounce and in the PnR throughout the day. Oh, did I mention he is an elite shot blocker? Talk about upside. I think he has the chance to be a top-5 prospect nationally.

Florida Rebels Youngins'

The Florida Rebels 15U squad made a huge statement in their big win over AOT, giving them their first loss of the weekend. This team is absolutely loaded with talent. Jamier Jones, one of the top freshmen in Florida, had his way. He has great size at the guard position with a strong frame. He was able to score it in any way that he wanted to. The Rebels have a ton of length and athleticism out on the perimeter and inside. Patton Pinkins is definitely a prospect to track. The primary ball handlers, Jalen Reece and Isaiah Campbell-Finch are both DI talents, too.

Hampton's Passing

The more I watch Keishawn Hampton, the more I am impressed with his feel for the game. The Norcross Heat guard can throw some dimes. His court vision along with his high IQ and ability to control the tempo will make him an asset at the next level. He is a smart player that makes good decisions with the ball in his hands. He is more than capable of averaging 7+ assists a game.
