Spring Preview Camp Team 9 Breakdown
Trakeon Downing, 2025 - On a team full of quick, shifty guards, Downing was probably the fastest. The kid gets the ball up the court in a hurry and really excels in the open court.
Jaylin Fraiser, 2022 - Fraiser is a guard that does not need the ball in his hands a lot to score. He moves well without the ball and takes good shots when he does get it. He is tenacious on the defensive end and takes pride in guarding good players.
Alexander Hepburn, 2024 - While he is not the most explosive player, he uses his length and high IQ to make his impact on the game. At 6-foot-4, Hepburn makes good reads and takes good shots.
Jamal Jackson, 2024 - Jackson is a quick guard that can blow by defenders with ease. At 5-foot-11, he does a good job of finishing at the rim over and around bigger defenders.
Temarius Mathis, 2022 - Mathis was named a top overall performer. Read more about him here.
Isaiah Onigbanjo, 2023 - Similar to a lot of the guards on his team, Onigbanjo is really shifty with a nice array of moves in his arsenal. Once he gets in the lane, he is a creative finisher around the basket.
Dierre Solomon, 2024 - Soloman is a smooth scorer with some shiftiness to him. He has a lot of bop to his game which makes it easy for him to break defenders down off the dribble. He has a smooth shooting stroke, too.
Elyjah Thurmon, 2024 - Thurmon is a big bully down in the paint. He uses his stout 6-foot-5 frame to create separation on the low block. His footwork, soft touch, and patience made him tough to stop once he got the ball in the post. His size and strength allowed him to dominate the boards, too.
Akivo Walker, 2024 - Walker is an athletic wing that plays with aggression on both ends. With the ball in his hands, he constantly looks to put his head down and attack. Defensively, he likes to get up in the ball handler and deny his man off the ball.
