The weather gets a little colder and the game take on a larger purpose. In this edition of the Hoop Seen Tennessee report we will conclude the happenings of the regular season and the district playoffs. Stay tuned for region, sub-state and state tournament action coming soon.

THE CONCLUSION OF THE REGULAR SEASON AND THE DISTRICT PLAYOFFS

EAST TENNESSEE

Milestones:

Trey Morrow (Scott): As he closed out the regular season with a 43 point effort against South Doyle and a 32 burger against Knoxville Halls the senior scoring machine moved past the 3,000 point mark, yes I said 3,000 point mark, and moved into second place on the school's all-time leading scoring list. It was a pleasure covering you these past four seasons.

Colby Raymer (Kingston): What can you say about this dazzling lead guard that has not already been uttered. Raymer closed out the regular season with a huge pop, how about 34 against Tellico Plains, 31 against McMinn Central, another 31 against Tellico Plains and finally a 30 spot against Meigs County. Raymer became the school's all-time leading scorer with his 32 point effort in the district opener and will forever endear himself to not only the folks in Kingston but all of us who watched him grow during his career.

Connor Martin (Anderson County): The Trevecca-Nazarene signee made his way into Maverick history posting the 1,000 point of his sterling prep career.

Connor Weyant (Northview Academy): Big boy etched his name forever in the annals of school history surpassing the coveted 1,000 career point threshold.

Micah Simpson (Morristown East): Big Mic stands alone atop the leader board. The 5'11 scoring sensation made it official as he moved in the top spot as the all-time leading scorer for the Hurricanes.

Tanner Johnson (Wartburg Central): On the heels of his 34 point effort against Coalfield, the senior wing surpassed the 2,000 point barrier for his high school career.

REGULAR SEASON SCORING EFFORTS

Jason Britton (North Greene): Seems like we cannot do a highlight on this subject without a mention or two from this emerging star. Britton was brilliant as he closed out the regular season with a 43 point monster effort against Hampton, a 31 spot against Cloudland and a 25 point finish against West Greene.

Jahvin Carter (Alcoa): Rising sophomore saw the light come on very bright as the regular season came down the wire. The exciting lead guard dropped 32 against Fulton and followed that up with a cool 27 against district foe Union County.

Dillon Stakley (Sequoyah): Senior marksman had himself a game for the ages as he drilled the twine for 50 markers against Sweetwater and forever etched his name into Chief folklore.

J.J. Faulkner (Karns) & Dalton McNew (Carter): How about this head to head showdown that I personally had the privilege to witness. Faulkner was a machine off the dribble and to the rim scoring a career-high 39 markers and snatching the win while McNew, only a junior, put on a show for the Hornet faithful dropping a career-high 38 in the tough loss.

Presley Patterson (Knoxville Catholic): Senior guard put the finishing touches on a very solid high school career scoring his 1,000 point for the Fighting Irish.

Jakobi Gillespie (Greeneville): Belmont signee let it be known that he is ready to defend that state tournament crown regardless of what classification. Want proof...how about a 44 spot in the district finale against Grainger. Nuff said.

B.J. Edwards (Knoxville Catholic): The road to the state finals began with this win over Chattanooga Christian. The Tennessee signee stated his message loud and clear with a 28 point effort.
