GHSA Girls Final 4 Preview A-Public and Private

The #MarchtoMacon has not disappointed. The Final Four kicks off tomorrow and it has been a fun ride. There have been some upsets and surprises, but only one team will reign supreme. Let's take a look at the A Public and Private Final Four matchups.

A-Public

Commerce vs Hancock Central - Saturday March 5 2pm @ Valdosta

Commerce escaped Pelham to win by three while Hancock Central took down Montgomery County by two to get here. Hancock Central pulled a huge upset taking down Montgomery. They have a lot of size led by the physical Jalexicia Hargrove. Hargrove craves physicality and is a bully in the paint. The Bulldogs will need Jameria Lawrence to score the ball for them like she has all season to move on to the finals. Commerce is a gritty team that has played in a lot of tough games. This could be a close game that goes down to the wire.

Taylor County vs Lake Oconee Academy -  Saturday March 5 6pm @ Valdosta

Taylor County beat Dublin and Lake Oconee beat Seminole County by three. Taylor County will want to get physical with Oconee Academy; that is when they are at their best. They will have to be to combat the strong guard play of Lake Oconee Academy. Georgia Bosart and Hannah Heinen make a solid duo out on the perimeter for the Titans.

A-Private

Holy Innocents vs Mount Paran - Friday March 4 2pm @ Buford City Arena

Both of these teams won handily in the Elite Eight to advance to the Final Four. This will be an absolute battle between two good teams. Georgia Tech signee Kara Dunn will give all that she has to help Eagles advance in what could be the last game of her high school career. Dunn will also need star freshman Jessica Fields to be a major factor as well. Fields has had as good of a freshman campaign as anyone in the state. She rebounds the ball well and is capable of dominating the paint. Holy Innocents has their fair share of talent, too. I'd say they are the favorites to win the whole thing. Led by junior Olivia Hutcherson, the Golden Bears have a good core they can depend on. Freshman Hailee Swain is one of the top guards in the state. The poise and advanced skill level she plays with as a freshman has been big for the team all season long. Zaynah Preston will be a big factor in this game, too.

Hebron vs Galloway - Friday March 5 2pm @ Buford City Arena

Hebron edged out St. Francis to win by two and Galloway beat Tallulah Falls. Hebron is looking to defend their state title but will have to get through a battle tested Galloway team. Galloway has a number of players that they can go to. Whether it is Tianna Thompson, Kyla Cain, Allison Hoffman, or Jasmine Baxter, there are a number of players on this roster that could have a great performance. The Scots will have to execute well this game to take down Hebron, who have already beat them twice this season. Hebron will rely heavily on Wofford signee Jessie Parish
