Unsigned Senior Spotlight: Taniya Pryor
I will use this series to highlight available senior players out of Georgia. For my first installment, I will be taking a look at Central High School guard, Taniya Pryor.
Pryor has solid positional size at 5-foot-10. She is a long guard that can impact the game on both sides of the ball. She utilizes her length defensively by getting her long arms into passing lanes, and causing opponents' a lot of trouble at the top of the press. She also has the tools to be a really good on ball defender. Offensively, she is relentless in attacking the basket. Once she gets a defender on her hip, she can get to her spot and make things happen. In 22 games this season, she is averaging 11 ppg, 3.3 steals, and 1.8 assists.
Pryor has improved her numbers and overall game each season. Her hard work has shown as she has seen her recruitment pick up in the last few months. The lead guard currently holds offers from Chattanooga State, Lawson State, Southern Arkansas University Tech, and Snead State. This is a player who has kept her head down and worked to see her stock rise and she will only continue to improve. Her length and two-way potential make her a really good option for junior and community colleges still in search of a guard. She is a big reason why Central is sitting in 2nd place in the region and she will be a pivotal piece in thier state playoff run. Just yesterday, she earned the honor of being named to the 2-AAA All Region First Team.
