Elite Preview Camp Team 8 Breakdown
Keith Banks Jr: Banks exudes toughness on the floor, especially on defense. He’s a guy who can develop into a high-level defender that’s used to lock down a team’s best player. He has a well-rounded skill set that can serve as the basis for a special player in the future. - Josh Tec
Chas Beasley: When I heard Beasley described as scrappy, I couldn’t think of a more apt descriptor. He’s a tough guard who can fill it up fast. Beasley can take on a microwave role for his team. He shoots the ball well from the perimeter, and he shows off his toughness when attacking the basket. - Josh Tec
Dyson Beaty: Beaty is a young guard that provided a lot of energy and hustle on the floor at this year’s Elite Preview. He’s only in the 8th grade and has already developed a good skill set at the point guard position. Beaty is very shifty and quick with his handles; he does a nice job keeping defenders off balance. - DC
Cornelius Brown - Brown is a 6-foot-1 combo guard from Atlanta, GA and this kid did not let his foot off the gas the entire camp. He does a great job finishing strong at the rack and can be very explosive. Brown can shoot the three and showed that he could be a clutch scorer during scrimmages. - DC
William Jobe: Jobe was named as a top performer. You can read more about him here.
Noah Osuji: Osuji showed a ton of promise as a defender. While he’s not the biggest guy, he has great timing on that end of the floor that helps him block shots with regularity. You can slot him in at multiple spots on the floor, and as he continues in his development, he has a chance to be a solid, versatile piece to a team. - Josh Tec
Jaden Priester: Priester has a real good frame off the wing standing at 6-foot-6. He already has some great skills and a huge upside to his game. Priester is an elite rebounder and provides nonstop energy on the floor. - DC
Spence Sims: Sims has continued to impress everyone each time he steps on to the floor and has most certainly raised his stock as an elite ball player. He has a great shot from the three and can also put the ball on the floor making great plays getting to the basket. Sims has a nice flow to his game, he does not force anything on the floor and once he gets going Sims can take over. - DC
JP Wells: Wells is a 6-foot-1 guard from Marietta, GA. The energy that this kid gave was off the charts. Wells can really shoot and is very consistent with it. His handles are very solid and does a nice job cutting for an easy basket. One thing I really liked was his communication on the floor; he did a great job talking on defense and ensured that everyone was where they needed to be. - DC
