Fastbreak Friday: Part II of a MAJOR weekend of visitors

The visit tour is so deep this weekend, this week’s Fastbreak Friday needed a two-part series. Welcome to September. With National Signing Day not too far away, the college basketball coaching staffs are in deep with prospects and players from across the country want to see what campus life is really like before they make a decision. Let’s continue our deep dive into the visitors of note for the weekend.

ACC

One of our favorite guys in the class of 2022 at the PF spot is Arizona’s Elijah Saunders. He’ll be in Blacksburg, VA this weekend to see the Hokies. The 6-foot-8 forward has been nation wide - taking a visit to San Diego State, Notre Dame and Miami already. He’ll be back on the East Coast next weekend with a trip to South Carolina.

Saunders will be joined by North Carolina big man Patrick Wessler. The towering big man from Combine Academy is a favorite with a number of high major schools from various conferences. His recruitment is one of the most active there is in the class of 2022 for his position.

If you’ve followed the recruitment of Chauncey Wiggins, you’ll know there is a strong ACC flavor to the Grayson (GA) forward’s final five list. NC State is in there firmly and will host him this weekend for an official visit.

Miami will play host to 6-foot-10 forward Luke Hunger of Northfield Mount Hermon (MA) for an official visit.

Class of 2024 forward Christian Humphrey-Rembert is taking an unofficial visit to Notre Dame on Saturday.

SEC

Keep an eye on Florida this weekend as they play host to in-state guard Denzel Aberdeen. The dynamic guard from Dr. Phillips is one of the most coveted lead guards in the class of 2022 nationally.

Over at Ole Miss, Kermit Davis and staff have a key target in Oxford for the weekend as North Gwinnett (GA) forward RJ Godfrey comes to town for an official visit. Also in town in 2023 in-state prospect Josh Hubbard for an unofficial visit.

South Carolina is playing host to key target Josh Reed of Pace Academy (GA). The strong-bodied state champ from Atlanta is one of the best prospects in the Peach State.

Speaking of GA… The Bulldogs of UGA will play host to Ohio guard Tom House for an official visit. Tom Crean and staff continue to mill out the country for players.

Former Tulsa commit Te Holloman will be in Fayetteville, Arkansas for a visit with the Razorbacks.

BIG 10

The visit tour continues for Florida native Brice Sensabaugh. This week the Lake Highland Prep wing will be in Columbus and spending time at Ohio State.

At Illinois, Ty Rodgers of Michigan will continue his deep dive int the conference. The 6-foot-7 forward is one of the most coveted players in the league. Also in town is Ohio guard Sencire Harris, making a heck of a 1-2 punch in town on the recruiting front.

BIG 12

Texas will host in-state bounce master Jordan Walsh for an official visit. Now at Link Year Prep (MO), the 6-foot-7 high-flyer will spend time with the Longhorns. The recruiting battle here is an interesting one. TCU, Oklahoma, Arizona State and Kansas are also in the mix.

Texas Tech is playing host to Robert Jennings, one of the best motor men in the class of 2022. His style of play fits the Red Raiders perfectly.

Here’s a couple of big unofifival visitors to keep an eye on for down the road - ’24 big man David Castillo will take an unofficial visit to Kansas and ’23 forward Cam Barnes will visit Oklahoma.

PAC-12

After a summer spent climbing the rankings lists, California wing Miles Byrd is headed up Interstate 5 for a trip to Washington. He went south earlier in the month, tripping to San Diego State. The NorCal wing has as high of a ceiling of anyone on the West Coast in the class of 2022.

Utah will play host to an important target in Colorado big man Zach Keller. The strong-bodied, hot-shooting four man is a highly coveted big man nationally and across several conferences. He played for the Utah Prospects in travel hoops.

OTHER NOTABLES

Memphis, no stranger to recruiting and hosting the big dogs, is bringing in 2023 stud Robert Dillingham for an official visit. He’ll be one of the most sought after players nationally in the current junior class. His coach Jeff McGinnis played at UNC with new Memphis assistant coach Rasheed Wallace.

Dillingham’s HS teammate Bryce Alfino will make a visit to Old Dominion for an official.

The state of Texas will always be one of the most productive states when it comes to developing the next wave of March Madness dream killers. File Duncanville wing Davion Sykes in that category. I think he’s one of the best mid-major prospects in America and so does UT-Arlington. Sykes will make the quick trip to the hometown school for an official visit.

Alex Steen, one of the best blow-up guys from the HoopSeen Association this season, will take a visit to Florida Southern this weekend. The multi-positional forward was outstanding for the Hawks Elite program over the spring and summer.

Marshall will host South Carolina big man Micah Handlogten for an official visit. If you’ve paid close attention to this site over the last year, we believe the 7-footer is one of the most interesting mid-major big men prospects in the South.

SMU will play host to local prospect Chauncey Gibson, an interesting 6-foot-6 wing from Dallas Kimball.

Appalachian State has a host of visitors in town this weekend for a visit. Florid big man Justin Abson and Indiana shooting guard Ryan Conwell headline the group. Also in town for unofficial visits are: Hampton Evans , John Baldwin and Elijah Strong.
