Big announcements for Georgia Elite Preview
We are excited to announce several key components to the Elite Preview camp in Marietta, Georgia on Saturday, March 14, 2015. Long time college coach Winston Neal will serve as the camp director, Scout.com's Evan Daniels will return to evaluate talent and All-American camp decision-makers will be in town, too.
ELITE COACHING
Winston Neal will serve as our camp director at both Elite Preview camps (Alabama on March 7 and Georgia on March 14). Coach Neal spent the last nine years as an assistant coach at Jacksonville University. While there he helped recruit players that contributed to the single greatest win-loss turnaround in the history of college basketball from one season to the next.
He also coached at Southern Cal and Loyola Marymount. He played four years at Georgia Tech. His experience as on-court teacher, learning from coaches like Tim Floyd and Cliff Warren, and his experience as a recruiter will play into the curriculum at the Elite Preview camps.
"I am extremely excited and honored to be a part of this year's Elite Preview in both Georgia and Alabama. The talent level should be excellent as only the best of the best from both states are invited to attend," Neal said. "I am looking forward to the opportunity to teach, coach and evaluate the best high school players that Georgia and Alabama have to offer."
ELITE EXPOSURE
Scout.com national basketball director Evan Daniels attended the Georgia Elite Preview last year and had a chance to see the best prospects in the Peach State. After attending the camp, Daniels and his staff rated Wheeler small forward Jaylen Brown as the top player in America for the class of 2015.
Kobi Simmons, a junior at St. Francis, is also a five-star in the recruiting network for the class of 2016. Daniels had an opportunity to watch the dynamic combo guard up close and personal at the 2014 camp.
Daniels said the Elite Preview allows him to key in on the best players in Georgia.
"In recruiting circles, we know the state of Georgia is loaded with talented basketball players. Justin Young and his HoopSeen.com staff put together a stage with the Elite Preview that allowed me to see the best of the best in the state. I got more done in that day with Georgia guys than any other showcase or tournament all year long."
ELITE OPPORTUNITIES
At this year's camp, we are excited to announce personnel representing Nike and Under Armour will be on hand to see players. Why is this important? Because the shoe reps are looking for elite players to attend their respective summer All-American camps. Only the very best are invited to these camps. The Elite Preview could be the gateway to that stage.
No other camp in Georgia offers such benefits. The Elite Preview is almost here. If you have the email to register, we'd encourage you do so now. If you are one of the invited, please contact Justin Young at justinyoung0@gmail.com to lock in your spot for the camp.
