Norcross downs Berkmar in state playoff opener
Balance. That is one word that describes this Norcross Blue Devils team.
On any given night, any quarter, any possession, opponents do not know who is going to beat them.
Tonight in the Blue Devils State Tournament first round 62-49 win over Berkmar, it wasn’t necessarily one player.
Nine players scored for Norcross, four reaching double figures.
Unsigned senior guard Tim Cameron was the one who answered the bell in the first half, totaling ten points capped off by a three at the halftime buzzer.
The second half saw a number of different scorers, led mostly by RayShaun Hammonds, Ricky Madison, & Zach Cooks.
Rayshaun Hammonds ended up leading the Blue Devils with 13 points, with Ricky Madison adding 11 and Zach Cooks & Tim Cameron scoring 10 a piece.
With this balance and depth, it seems like Norcross could be built for a one-and-done bracket style of play.
Norcross will host Lowndes, who beat Lovejoy, in the round of 16.
