15 AND UNDER: Gwinnett Hawks 64, Flame Black 50
As had been the case in most of their games throughout the weekend, the Hawks essentially controlled the game wire-to-wire. Save for some short bursts from Flame Black, Gwinnett was never in serious danger. The Hawks played six games throughout the weekend, and they won four of them by 10 or more points. The other two games were 8-point victories. It was one of the more impressive runs of the Georgia Cup.
The Hawks’ depth showed out. Four of their eight players scored in double figures. Bryce Thorton and Wayman Bowie combined for six made 3-pointers. Each of them hit three. Thorton scored 15 total points. Bowie scored 11. Nate Daniel and Amir Daniel added 13 and 10 points respectively.
Flame Black’s Logan Blalock had a big game. He led the team in scoring with 16 points. He showed off his range by draining a pair of 3-pointers. Devonte Newell added 8 points.
