Three Things from Day 2 of the Georgia Cup.

Tri-City Elite: Talent Across the Board: One of the most impressive things of the weekend thus far has been how much talent there is within the Tri-City Elite program. No matter which age group is on the court, they have at least one player that makes people stop and watch. Whether it be because of sheer size or outstanding play, each of Tri-City Elite’s teams features must-see players. Here are just a few:

17U:

Zaquien Whitehead is a 6-foot-8 big man that looks to tear the rim down whenever he gets the chance.

TraVion Jackson is a guard that’s capable of taking over a game and scoring in a variety of ways.

Eric Ivory is another versatile guard. He can be

15U:

This is perhaps the most loaded group of the bunch.

Toney Coleman is a guard that can fill it up in a hurry. His highlight performance came when he dropped 18 points.

Max Skidmore is Coleman's partner in the backcourt, and he's another high-level scorer. Skidmore can shoot the lights out when he gets going. That duo is a handful to deal with.

Jamariion Palm is listed at 6-foot-9, and he is appointment viewing. He’s an unstoppable force when he gets going. He threw down some dunks that generated some buzz in the building.

14U:

Zayden Walker is one of those players that needs to carry his birth certificate with him. He looks like a grown man on the court. He can get to the rim whenever he wants.

Frankie Raines is a do-everything point guard that can fill it up in a hurry.

13U:

Even at this level, they have some of the biggest, most high-upside guys on the floor. Tereis Benson and Markevious Yancey are names worth committing to memory.

12U:

While young, this roster shows a lot of promise. As they continue to progress through their basketball careers, there will surely be some players that make headlines from this bunch.

Seriously, where are they finding all of these guys?

Be Aggressive: When Quiet Storm took on Team S.M.A.S.H., they were clearly oversized. S.M.A.S.H. runs out a roster that looks like they should be playing in the NCAA Tournament rather than the travel circuit, but that didn’t intimidate Quiet Storm.

Instead of shying away from the size and settling for jumpers, Quiet Storm was aggressive and looked to posterize a S.M.A.S.H. player every time they had the ball. Did they get their shots blocked at times? Yes, absolutely. They never stopped being aggressive though. They just kept attacking the basket time after time.

What did their aggressive approach bring them? One of the biggest wins of the weekend. Be aggressive.

Team Power (17U) Dynamic Duo: Ahmad Hunt and Anthony Hamm were two of the more impressive, productive tandems of the day. They’re both smart, versatile scorers who helped lead Team Power to a 2-0 record on Saturday. In their first game, Hunt led the team with 16 points, but Hamm wasn’t too far behind. Watching them on Sunday will be a treat.
