On Wednesday evening,  No. 2 seeded McEachern beat No. 2 seeded Collins Hill on the road, 84-63, to advance to their third-straight Final Four. 

McEachern’s big three helped delay Coach Mike Thompson’s retirement by leading the Indians to victory yet again. Cam McDowell, Chance Moore and Bobby Moore combined for 61 of McEachern’s 84 points. 

McDowell scored 27 points, and for stretches of the game, he was nearly unstoppable. He was able to get whatever he wanted on the offensive end. Chance Moore celebrated his birthday by dropping 20 points despite sitting the entire second quarter with foul trouble. Bobby Moore joined Chance on the bench with foul trouble in the second quarter, but he still managed to add 14 points.  

Collins Hill opened the game on a 13-4 run. The Eagles placed heavy emphasis on taking charges, as they drew four charges in the first quarter and drew two early fouls on Chance and Bobby Moore. 

With two of their stars on the bench, McEachern went on a tear in the second quarter in which they outscored the Eagles 22-13. McDowell scored 10 points in the quarter. Jalen Hilliard and Francis Okwuosah gave McEachern tremendous minutes with both of the Moores sitting out. They each gave the Indians solid scoring efforts and tenacity on the glass. 

With a big second quarter, McEachern took a 36-28 lead into halftime. 

Collins Hill came out swinging in the third quarter. Riding Vino Glover’s hot shooting, the Eagles cut the Indians’ lead to three. But, McEachern responded with a 7-0 run that pushed their lead to double digits. 

The Eagles gave McEachern a final scare in the fourth quarter by going on a 6-0 run, but McEachern withstood the surge and whizzed by Collins Hill to secure the 21-point victory. 

Vino Glover had a huge second half for Collins Hill. Glover finished with 22 points, and 17 of those came in the second half. He’s a dynamic guard that can do it all for the Eagles. He hit three of Collins Hill’s eight 3-pointers and led the Eagles on their late-game runs. Ethan Davis was hampered by foul trouble, but he had a great second half as well. Davis finished with 14 points, and 12 of them came in the second half. He also gave them a great rebounding effort.  Chris Lanns added 10 for the Eagles. 

During this playoff run, Cam McDowell has averaged 24 points per game. 

McEachern will stay on the road and go to Berkmar for a marquee Final Four matchup. As of now, the time and date have yet to be announced.
