HoopSeen Top-10 with Brianna Patton (Week of Jan. 18-23)
It is time for yet another round of our HoopSeen top-10 with Brianna Patton. In this week of hoops action around the peach, we got a 50-ball, a 40-ball, and other outstanding overall performances. Check out this weeks list of top performers.
Anthony Arrington - Galloway
Arrington has been one of the most consistent 2022 players all season. He has finished with a double-double in the majority of his games this season. In a win over GAC, he finished with 26 points and 8 rebounds. He followed that up with an 11-point, 17 rebound performance, giving him a new career high in rebounds. Arrington led Galloway to their third win of the week as he finished with 26 points and 9 rebounds against Tallulah Falls. This is a kid who could see his recruitment rise in the next few months.
Kanaan Carlyle - Milton
Carlyle shook the entire state up with his 43-point performance against Woodstock. His scoring prowess and 3-point shooting ability was on full display all night. Carlyle was able to score from any spot he wanted to with ease. He was extremely efficient from behind the arc, going 9-11 from three on the night. In another win against Alpharetta, Carlyle finished with 18 points and five boards. Recently adding an offer from UGA, Carlyle is poised to blow up heading into the spring.
Jake Craft - Dawson
The available senior had himself a week, combining for 75 points in two wins. Craft erupted for 45 points against Lumpkin and followed that up with a 30-point performance in a win over Pickens. As one of the states top shooters, Craft is asserting himself as one of the top available seniors left in Georgia.
Aidan Hadaway - LaFayette
Hadaway could be the best junior in the state that not enough people know about. He's put on several high scoring performances this season and this week was no different as he combined for 95 points on three wins. The 6-foot-7 forward went off for 38 points in a win over Ringgold. As the week continued, he did not let up. He proceeded to score 37 points in a win over Adairsville and 20 points against North Murray. Hadaway has shown he is one of the most versatile players in the state. His ability to score inside out with his size makes him a fun prospect to keep an eye on.
Scoot Henderson - Kell
Henderson continues to make his case as a top guard nationally in the 2022 class. In a region win over Osborne, Henderson absolutely went off for 53 points breaking the Kell High School single game scoring record. He also grabbed 10 boards to finish with a double-double. This kid is a straight up blur with the ball in his hands. He is so tough to stop in the open court. When he is on, there is almost no stopping him. In an earlier win over Allatoona, Henderson netted 20 points.
Oscar Lynch - Pinecrest Academy
Lynch notched a monster double-double in a region win against Weber scoring 20 points and hauling in 19 rebounds. He also led Pinecrest with 24 points in an OT loss earlier in the week. His ability to score paired with his knack for rebounding makes Lynch a prospect to keep an eye on.
Sami Pissis - Trinity Christian
Pissis arguably had the best performance of the entire day at the Holy Innocents MLK Classic. Finishing with 38 points and 7 rebounds against Collins Hill, he definitely made his presence known with his high energy. This kid is one of the strongest players I've seen all season. He has the ability to bully his way into the lane and finish through contact with his strength. Defenses cannot give him too much space because he does not hesitate to shoot it from long range. Pissis kept his momentum going, scoring 26 in a big win over Greenforest.
Josh Reed - Pace Academy
The Pace Academy junior had a big week. Reed led his Knights team to a win over McNair. With Pace not being at full strength, Reed had to have a big game and he did just that. He finished with 31 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists on Tuesday. Soon after that performance, he picked up an offer from UGA.
Ja'Quez Thornton - Drew Charter
Thornton may be in the running for the most improved award as he has consistently put up good numbers for Drew Charter all season. In a win over Bowdon, the lefty went for 30 points and 6 rebounds. This is a kid that plays with a high motor and has the potential to become a dynamic scorer.
Mansir Williamson - Centennial
The Centennial sophomore has come through for the Knights all season. In a region win over Riverwood, Williamson had a solid all-around game posting 20 points 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Williamson's consistency has placed him in the conversation of top 2023 guards in the state.
