Tennessee Preview Camp Player Evaluations, Part II
On our final stop in our Preview camp series, we went down to Tennessee where we were joined by some top prospects across the region. After reviewing the notes from our staff and coaches, here is part II of our player evaluations.
Arnez Anderson, 2024 G, Hillsboro: Anderson had a lot of coaches talking about his potential. He showed spurts of what he could do on the offensive end with his change of pace. He was able to easily penetrate the defense using his speed and change of direction.
Reggie Bass, 2022 PG, HHCA: Bass was named as one of the top overall performers of the camp. Read more about him here.
Edward Doig, 2022 PG, North Hall: Doig was one of the more crafty players at the camp. He uses his handle to attack the seams to get good shots at the rim. Doig also hit some 3-pointers and played good defense on the day.
Trey Johnson, 2021 G, Cosby: Johnson was one of the best 3-point shooters present at the camp. If defenders gave him even a little space, he let it fly. He also made a lot of plays at the rim, often pushing the tempo with the ball in his hands.
Phillip Hughes, 2021 CG, Madison-Ridgeland: Hughes is one of those PGs that is really aggressive on the defensive end. He caused a number of turnovers that resulted in points for his team.
Jake Dykstra, 2022 F, Christ Presbyterian Academy: With his big, strong frame, Dykstra uses his body well on both ends of the floor. He moved well without the ball, resulting in easy baskets. Dykstra also plays really hard on the defensive end.
Jake Mulder, 2022 CG, Ravenwood: Mulder just has a knack for getting into the paint. He displayed good speed and crafty moves to get by defenders. Once he starts to finish at the rim more consistently, Mulder could turn into an offensive force.
Aleksa Skoko: 2021 SG, HHCA: Skoko showed that he is a fundamentally sound player with a good understanding of the game. He utilizes the shot fake to get around his defenders and get to the rim. He was also aggressive going after rebounds.
Gleb Tikhonenko, 2022 G, HHCA: Tikhonenko displayed a smooth shot stroke with deep range. He uses his size to shoot over defenders as well as bullying his way into the paint. Tikhonenko is a force on the boards, too.
