Updating our Georgia 2021 top 50 player rankings
After a condensed summer and a fortunate flurry of events in the Peach State, we’ve had a good sampling of on-court action to do a much-needed update to our Georgia class of 2021 rankings.
The list remains at 50 and our top two is locked in. After that, things were switched up a bit with players moving out, players improving, guys breaking out and more film and in-person evaluations allowed for a spirited debate between myself and Tai Young.
Before we dive into things, have a look at the updated HoopSeen.com rankings for Georgia’s 2021 class.
LOOKING INSIDE THE TOP 10
I think we have a pair of McDonald’s All-Americans from Georgia in this class - Jabari Smith of Sandy Creek and Matthew Cleveland of Pace Academy. They will have my vote. Those were the easy picks.
From there, things changed quickly.
We have moved St. Francis/Team Dickerson Celtics wing Jusuan Holt to No. 3 overall in the class. Kaleb Washington of Game Elite made a big jump to No. 4 overall.
Holt was outstanding at our Always Live Showcase and has owned his head to head battles against other players on this list. His continued development as a full-time wing paired with his relentless work on the glass makes him a very attractive collegiate prospect.
“Everything seems to have clicked for Washington as he showed us improvements in his shooting, motor and overall level of play,” Tai Young said in our rankings discussion.
Cherokee's Elijah Tucker comes in at No. 5 overall, maintaining his status quo to where we saw him before the travel season. Kok Yat has reclassified to the class of 2021 and the Norcross forward checks in at No .6 overall in the state of Georgia. He was also a top 5 player in Georgia’s 2022 class prior to the reclassifying decision.
Early Florida commit Kowacie Reeves also maintains his position in the class, coming in at No. 7 overall. The long senior guard is Middle Georgia’s top overall prospect in the class of 2021.
Mannie Harris makes the biggest debut/rise of the class of 2021. After a stellar summer with AC Georgia, the South Georgia guard has impressed me so much that I think we could make an argument that he is one of the top mid-major prospects in the nation and a potential All-Conference level player. I think he’s a terrific prospect for the next level.
Vanderbilt bound Peyton Daniels didn’t move very much at all, checking in at No. 9 overall. He’s one of the toughest shooters and on the ball defenders in the state.
Rounding out the top 10 is Grayson big man Ian Schieffelin. Tai Young had this to say about his big rise: “he looks primed to be more of a vocal point for Grayson this season. Offensively he's made strides while not diminishing the returns that teams get from his motor.”
EXPLORING THE RISERS
After a disappointing junior season at the scholastic season, we saw a return to old form from new Arkansas commit Chance Moore. He made a big jump back up the board to No. 11 overall in the state. Myles Rice is our top overall point guard on the board. The new Sandy Creek floor general is No. 12 overall. Right behind him is Andrew McConnell at No. 13. The Lanier guard is one of the best shooters in the class from the state of Georgia. Norcross guard Jaden Harris comes in at No. 23 overall after his stellar showing with Team Huncho. He makes a major debut in the updated rankings.

OUTBOUND PLAYERS
There were a number players in Georgia’s class of 2021 who have left the state. Had these players stayed in the Peach State, we would have included them in our state rankings.
Robbie Armbrester left Tri-Cities for Wasatch Academy in Utah, Micah Bell left Chapel Hill for Archbishop Carroli in Florida, Javian Mosley left Westside Macon for Florida State University School, Jaylin Sellers left Spencer for Carver in Alabama, Miles Kelly of Parkview and Ezra Ausar of Shiloh are both headed to Virginia's Hargrave Military Academy
