Bre Singleton’s Four Things I Liked on Sunday

DULUTH, GA - Bre Singleton spent Sunday at the Infinite Energy Forum catching some of the underclassmen action of the 2020 Atlanta Jam.

HI, MY NAME IS...

Rodrigo Farias was a player that I got to see in action a few times at #ATLJam. The Game Elite 360 point guard impressed me on Friday night, putting up 21 points on a tough Monarchs team. He sliced through the defense with ease and showed good ability to finish at the rim. I got another look at him on Sunday against Flame 2023, a game in which he put up 17 points. What stood out to me on Sunday was his ability to crash the boards. He had a few easy buckets off of put backs from missed shots of his teammates. He pushes the break hard and finds the open man with good fundamental passing. The 2024 guard has already accrued early interest from. the likes of Xavier, Alabama and Oregon.

GEOFFREY SPROUSE CAME TO PLAY

The 2022 SOH Elite guard made all the right decisions in their morning matchup with Tennessee Fury Gold. He can put his head down and get to the cup for the finish or find his teammates for open shots. He hit 4 threes and the game winning free throw on his way to 17 points. He’d hit another four in their afternoon game versus BCB for a total of 23 points. A solid defender, Sprouse snagged a couple steals to add to his consistent scoring.

SHOOTERS SHOOT

I saw some pretty impressive shooting performances on Sunday, the first from 15U Promise Elite PG Justin Redmond. What he lacked in size, Redmond made up for beyond the arc. He pulled threes from deep, knocking down six of them on his way to 20 points in their win over Bostic Next Level.

PSB Elite’s Noah Magee topped that with eight three pointers as they handed Team 100 Tampa their first loss of the weekend on Sunday afternoon. The 2022 guard’s ability to move without the ball allowed him to shake free of defenders for open shots when he wasn’t pulling them off the dribble.

ON POINT

Floor generals seemed to come up big in a lot of the matchups I saw on Sunday. HYPE got a huge scoring contribution from Isaiah Lewis as he dumped in 28 points, getting it done from just about everywhere. The 2022 guard hit four triples, got to the cup and made excellent decisions with the ball to get his teammates involved.

D-Favors Celtics guard Anthony Arrington has quite the weekend and gave us more of the same on Sunday as he led his squad to a big win over PSB Chatt. He put up 19 points and had a slew of nice dishes down to the Celtics big men for easy buckets. Arrington has shown that he can score consistently and control the pace of an extremely athletic Celtics team.
