Top Performers from FBI Tip-Off
The Farm Bureau Insurance Tip-Off was held this weekend at Dorman High School outside of Spartanburg, South Carolina. The event featured teams from South Carolina and Georgia competing at the SCHSL three-time defending state champions, Dorman's massive campus. Here is a look at the top-overall performers from the event.
Dee Foster, 2020, G, Laurens High School - Foster was a bright spot for Laurens in this match-up with Woodruff. The 6-foot-2 guard has to spend some time down on the block with the lack of size for Laurens but he is strong, with a great frame that rebounds. Foster is a natural scorer, I like his toughness and his quick first-step. The southpaw can score down low with his quick feet and ability to get off the floor in a hurry. He is also a standout wide receiver on the Laurens football team. Division II schools should be taking a look.
Qua Kershaw, 2020, F, Union County High School - Really like the upside that Kershaw has. He is long and active. He does a good job of getting position down low and rebounds really well. Thought Kershaw showed a soft touch around the rim and easily caught inlet passes. As he will continue to grow, Kershaw will be a name to track in that 2022 class for South Carolina.
Robert McCray, 2021, G, AC Flora - McCray is a scorer with really nice size at 6-foot-4. He scored 22 points to lead AC Flora to a win over Greenville HS on Saturday afternoon. His size at the point guard spot is attractive to college coaches along with his high basketball IQ and feel for the game and his ability to be a playmaker. His one question mark from college coaches was his ability to shoot and he showed that he can consistently make some shots beyond the three-point line. He currently has offers from Charleston Southern and USC-Upstate.
Raekwon Horton, 2020, SF, Keenan - Horton is one of the top unsigned seniors in South Carolina and had strong showing against Byrnes HS in a win on Saturday, scoring 22 points. The long and athletic Horton is a big-time shooter that wants the ball in his hands when the game is getting tight. He is a undervalued rebounder and he can defend. He has offers from a good list of mid-major programs throughout the Southeast.
D'Yon Bartley, 2021, G, Woodruff - Bartley started out the game showing he can do a good job of slashing to the basket with his strong upper-body and ability to finish at the rim. I like his toughness and his overall skillset. He has a really strong motor and I didn't see him take any plays off in the opening game on Saturday. I think he has the size and the game to be attracting some Division II schools in the near future.
Case Roach, 2020, SF, Travelers Rest - The North Georgia signee is was solid in the afternoon game against Lower Richland. The big bodied Roach made one from beyond the three-point line, normally his speciality and finished with 14 points. I like his toughness and his competitiveness that I think will translate well to the next level at North Georgia.
Anthony Huff, 2020 SG, Lower Richland - Huff had one of the better games I have seen from him against Travelers Rest in a win. He showed his versatility and his ability to rebound, finishing with 22 points and 9 rebounds.
