Fall Preview II Top Performers
Eighty players from across the Southeast joined us at Suwannee Sports Academy on Saturday as we hosted our final Preview camp of the season. Several players shined but it was these few prospects that separated themselves from the pack. Here are our staff's top performers from the day:
The versatile forward is a constant player in this top performer space after our Preview camps. In this camp setting, Armbrester just imposes his will on defenders and challenges them to stop him. They struggled to do so. His motor is full-time and that allows him to find success in a number of spots on the floor. He’s going to score at the rim and rebounded as well as anyone in the camp. - Justin Young
After a decent performance after our first Fall Preview camp, it was evident that Noord was on a mission today. With the ball in his hands, there were few better as he would mix and break down whoever was in his way. His creativity with the ball is worth the recognition but it was his decisiveness that left me impressed. Rarely did Noord get the ball without a clear purpose in mind. Possession after possession would end with a positive result. With a spaced floor and simplification of his game, Noord washed the taste of our first camp out of his mouth-Tai Young
Jackson made the most of his day with some eye-popping athleticism plays at and above the rim, but he proved he is more than just an athlete throughout the day. The junior excelled as a playmaker with the ball in his hands, where he was able to score at the rim or create opportunities for his teammates. Defenders had a hard time staying in front of him throughout the day. On the flip side, Jackson was a valuable asset on defense because of his versatility, length, and speed. A number of college coaches have made their way to Douglas County High School this fall and it's easy to see why. Jackson is an intriguing playmaker that is only going to get better with time. - Garrett Tucker
The young fella must have grown up in the Al Horford Atlanta Hawks era because that’s the style of game and poise he plays with down low. Black was very good in the pick and roll. He has great footwork and a natural understanding of where to be and how to get there. Black is a very talented inside the paint and was one of the top overall big men in the camp on Saturday. This was a great showing and introduction to the state of Georgia from the talented big fella. - Justin Young
Arias made quite the splash on Saturday with his play as a virtual unknown prospect coming into camp. A recent import from the Dominican Republic, the 6-foot-3 wing made an impressive first impression on our staff. Arias showed the ability to score from all three levels throughout the day, but he was hard to handle off the bounce and slashing to the rim. Arias is explosive off the bounce and had no problems finishing through contact at the rim. Don't be surprised to see a host of Division I programs making the trip to Trinity Christian to see the talented guard. -Garrett Tucker
He was one of the best seniors in our Saturday camp. He shot lights out from three and continues to be one of the better shooters in the metro Atlanta area. McGhee has great strength and a muscular frame that allows him to power through defenders without any push back or trouble. He was a match-up problem because of his strength and his ability to stretch the floor. South Carolina State is involved and he’s worth a good look from low-major and Division II schools. McGhee is one of the best shooters in the Peach State. - Justin Young
New Hampstead has a senior guard that looks prepared for a battle this season. Playing much bigger than his listed height, Dontavian Leach makes sure you feel his presence both inside and out. With a calm and collected outside game, Leach would walk defenders to his spot and pull over them with ease. One of the best rebounding guards to play at our camps this season has officially started his story.
