Carrollton's Melvin Edwards is a wanted man

Melvin Edwards is one of Georgia's Mr. Tough Guys in the class of 2020. The guard from Carrollton and Team Forrest is a terrific basketball player who shines in competition. College coaches have caught onto that, too.

He shined during the June live period with Carrollton, keeping up with what we've seen from him on the HoopSeen stage and other events during the 2019 travel season. Now his recruitment has some serious lifeblood.

Edwards has offers from a wide variety of schools. He said he currently holds scholarships from Saint Louis, Georgia Southern, Mercer, Tennessee State, Chattanooga, Kennesaw State, Presbyterian and UNC Wilmington.

He said: "I’ve heard from Mississippi State, Middle Tennessee and Wichita State. Murray State and Mississippi state are coming to watch me work out in September."

Edwards already has an official visit set, too. He'll make the trip to Georgia Southern on Sept. 6.
