The month of June was an interesting one with the NCAA Live Period now extending into the high school landscape. The state of Georgia did a nice job of building a platform that allowed players, teams and college coaches to all be connected. There are a lot of thoughts to dive into. 

Over the last two weeks, I’ve taken roughly two dozen calls from college coaches all looking for a “sleeper big man”. And I’d love to get paid like Kevin Durant. 

But, there are some sleepers of note. We saw a nice trio of them at the NCAA Georgia Top 100 camp. All three are different and all three bring something valuable to the table. College coaches from various levels were intrigued by this tall trio. 

Jacob Radaker of Jefferson was a nice eye-catcher for a number of low-majors in attendance. The 6-foot-8 competed well at the Top 100 camp last weekend and certainly played the role of a guy worthy of a Division I scholarship. Radaker will be at the Best of the South with God’s Property during the NCAA Live Period July 11-14 in downtown Atlanta. 

Southwest Dekalb center Mohamad Diallo (pictured) keeps added layers to his game that intrigued coaches from various levels. The 6-foot-9 paint player has all kinds of great length and he uses it well on both sides of the ball. Diallo continues to make strides, small step by small step, and his role will be important for the talented SW Dekalb club. Late-bloomer big man are always intriguing and Diallo laid the groundwork for what could be a fruitful and curious July and fall ahead. 

Mt. Zion Jonesboro’s Eric Grier was a player of intrigue during the team cam and top 100 camp. The 6-foot-8 big man impressed us at the HoopSeen Tip-Off because of his defensive abilities, particularly his shot-blocking skill. He’s one of the best defensive sleepers there is in the Peach and in a class where size is coveted at an all-time high, don’t be surprised to see his name pop up in more recruiting conversations here in Georgia.
