Things heating up for Beverly
2016 Perry County Central (KY) guard Braxton Beverly has been a popular prospect amongst mid-major programs for a couple of years now, but it looks like his recruitment is beginning to expand to the high-major schools.
With offers from Western Kentucky, Northern Kentucky, Cleveland State, Marshall, Miami (OH), and Samford, he is right in the middle of the recruiting process. Things will only heat up in the future, though.
"Notre Dame, Wake Forest, Dayton, Virginia, Belmont, Lehigh, Wichita State, and Minnesota are some of the other schools showing interest," Beverly told HoopSeen.com. "Western Kentucky, Samford, Morehead State, Miami (OH), Lehigh, Tennessee Tech, Belmont and some more schools have come to school to see me."
Beverly recently attended Western Kentucky's midnight madness, Hilltopper Hysteria, and he enjoyed the environment.
"It was great. I really enjoyed getting to hang out with the coaches and some of the guys I played with that I haven't seen in awhile."
Beverly was teammates with freshman Justin Johnson at Perry County Central.
"I like how much Western Kentucky treats me like family. They give me a good home feeling there, and not to mention, they have a very successful basketball program."
He also plans to visit Samford in the coming weeks, and a trip to Ohio is in the works, too.
For a kid living in rural Kentucky, Beverly's recruitment is just starting to heat up and it will only get hotter.
