Top three overall performers at the 2019 HoopSeen Atlanta Jam
The 2019 HoopSeen Atlanta Jam was loaded with talent and college coaches from every level came through to see the action. After watching hundreds of teams and thousands of players, our staff debated on who were the three best overall performers at the event. These were the three players who stood out the very most.
The big man had coaches from all over the country in for him everyday this weekend. Basa-Ama has a high motor, skilled in the post and changes shot selection for the opposing team. Effort is an intangible that cannot be taught and Basa-Ama gave it his all every game. Oklahoma Head Coach Lon Kruger and staff were three deep for one of his games and USF Head Coach Brian Gregory also watched. - Justin Byerly
Few big men had quite the kind of weekend that Benson had at the Atlanta Jam. The 6-foot-8 forward showed off a lot of touch out to the three-point line and was a match-up problem in every game he played in. Benson averaged 18 points a game. He also posted double-digit rebounds in every contest. The study big man is quite nimble on his feet and he attacked the basket with some impressive footwork. When his motor is running, he was the toughest big man to stop in the entire event. Benson drew coaches from the high-major level and non-major NCAA tournament teams. It wouldn’t come as a big surprise to see his recruitment take on high-majors up and down the East Coast after this weekend. - Justin Young
A lack of having a motor caused a few players to drop off the radar of division one staff’s all together this weekend. Diante Blanch wasn’t one of them. If fact, there may not of been a player that upped their stock more the Blanch from sheer hustle and heart. Aside from that, Blanches play at the point spot progressed nicely over the weekend as he took the reigns of an offense that often relied on his playmaking. It was a not so easy task to for Blanch to play his level of intensity given the level of competition through the weekend. Even with a daunting schedule and the ups and downs that come with it, there wasn’t a drop off in his competitive fire. Blanch proved to be a solid selection for mid major programs. - Tai Young
