HoopSeen Tip-Off Spotlight: Maurice Brown, Charlotte Aces
The Charlotte Aces AAU program has been a fixture in the Southeast. Finding under-the-radar talent and a having a coach that gets the most out of his players is what the Aces are all about. Head Coach Kevin Ligons is a guy that has been around Charlotte basketball for a while and really has an understanding for the type of players that it takes to play at the next level.
One player in particular is Maurice Brown, a 2020 point guard who plays at Berry Academy in Charlotte. Brown is a player that has been a name to know in the area since his freshman year in Queen City. Brown has been named all-conference the past three years and was named to the All-District 9 third team this season.
This past weekend at The HoopSeen Tip-Off, Brown did what the Charlotte area has seen year after year. He was tough to stay in front of in the open floor, he is a crafty finisher in the lane, he plays with a smoothness to his game that not a lot of guys can pull off.
Queens University, Liberty University, and Winthrop University are schools that have reached out to the 6-foot guard, he tells HoopSeen. Division Two programs should track Brown over this spring/summer and into his senior season as a guard that can help a program.
