Senior Showcase Superlatives: Three best rebounders

As we look back at our HoopSeen Senior Showcase, our staff wanted to roll out three superlatives a day. In this first edition of the notes, we focus on the three best rebounders from the camp.

Alex Bean, Tri-Cities (pictured): The man in the middle for the state champion Bulldogs plays like a guy who has already battled it out in three-hour practices in college. He knows how to grind and work for his production in the paint. The 6-foot-7 forward worked hard to corral rebounds in and out of his area in every game at the Senior Showcase. That’s why he was shaking hands with college coaches at the end of the event.

Devin Evans, Duluth: One of the most versatile and intriguing players in the entire camp, Evans mixed up his production in the open floor and in the half court. When the game was slowed down, he worked well as a rebounder collector. Evans has one of the best college frames and unique length that allowed him to round up loose shots and turn them into offense or second chance opportunities. His role at the college level could be very similar.

Xavier Duncan, Houston County: Grind it out and work. That mantra worked well for Duncan in this setting. His strong 6-foot-5 frame allowed him to push out the opposition and reel in rebounds. He collected missed shots in and out of his area. His rebounding caught our attention and drew the praise of his coaches at the camp.
