The class of 2019 is overall another solid class for North Carolina. The private school and public schools in the state have some of the most coveted prospects in the country. Here is a breakdown of who is left on recruiting boards across the state. 

6’4 SG/W Ren Dyer (North Buncombe HS)-The two-time WMAC Conference Player of the Year and two-time District 12 Player of the Year, Dyer is one of the toughest recruits that I have ever scouted. He has a motor that is non-stop, he went from a player that really didn’t have much success shooting beyond the three-point line to a player that is a legitimate threat to knock down those shots. He is a high-flying shooting guard/wing that is a sure-fire Division One player. (Pictured above)

6’9 F Ben Beeker (Hendersonville HS)-The long and athletic Beeker is a legitimate threat to be a stretch-four at the next level. He can consistently knock down the long jumper and can bring the ball into the post and score. He does a really good job of running the floor and filling the lanes. He is an above-average rebounder and blocks a lot of shots. 

6’1 G Shykiem Phillips (South Central HS)-Fresh off a NCHSAA 4-A state title, Shykeim’s recruitment still baffles me. He can defend, he can score from all spots on the floor, he is athletic, he can get out in the break and handle the ball and he is a winner. He is a grand total of 70-4 at South Central over the past 3 years. He has picked up some new offers over the past month and is taking an official visit to Towson this week. 

6’5 W Jayden Turner (Southwest Guilford HS)- In the regional finals, Turner put on a show scoring 29 points against one of the top teams in the nation Cox Mill. Used length to create steals playing the top of a zone, connected on a number of three-point shots, smooth lefty, attacks the rim with force, good rebounder, has that dog in him, tough, moves feet well laterally and brings energy. He can guard multiple positions and is versatile. 

6’1 PG Raja Milton (Independence HS)- Good understanding of the game, his court-vision and anticipation set him apart in his conference. He is quick and can score from all points on the floor. A solid on ball defender, plays the passing lanes, sets up his teammates and is a true team first PG. Very under-recruited.

6’7 F Dy’Quavis Wilkins (Farmville Central HS)- Able to step out and knock down the perimeter shot. He has a good handle for his size and a soft touch around the basket. Wilkins is a strong defender that can alter, and blocks shots and he can also defend the perimeter. 

6’5, SF Noah Dunn (Greensboro Day)- Coming back from injury fairly well he can play 3-4 positions on the floor. Noah has a strong overall skill set and can stretch the floor a little even being 6’5. He is an underrated rebounder that may not pass the look test but is more athletic than he seems. A true competitor/winner who plays for one of the most well coached teams in North Carolina. 

6’0, G Michael Wade (The Burlington School)- Guard with a tight handle and one that doesn’t make mistakes. He gets up the floor in the floor in a hurry and is a strong defender, he shoots it well and is a lightning-fast lead guard who has had a superb senior year. Able to get to the rim almost at will and can find the open man or score it himself. Excellent rebounder for a guard and is unstoppable in transition. Uses ball screens very well and is able to read the defense. Lock-down defender with an extremely high basketball IQ and great vision. Needs to get more consistent with his outside shot but has solid form and can knock down open 3s. 

6’0, G Jake Smith (Enka HS)-Smith had one of the best senior years’ of anyone in the region. He scored 40+ points on multiple occasions, he is a high-flying guard that can finish plays above the rim. He has a very good handle and can shoot it from deep consistently. He has some D2 and D3 looks and is looking to decide his college destination in the near future. 

6’3, G Jalen Crowder (Reynolds HS)-The sharp-shooter, Crowder excels in making shots from beyond the three-point line. He has good size at the next level at the guard spot, he can shoot over smaller defenders and can also score off the dribble. Crowder is a good defender and is a good area rebounder. He should be recruited at the D2/D3 level. 

6’0, G Devin Elliott (Carolina Day School)-A pass-first point guard, Elliott improved so much in between his junior and senior year. He showed a newly found level of athleticism, he shot it consistently from the three-point line and in, he showed true leadership qualities that will translate to the next level. 

6’3, G Trevon Bell (Seventy-First)-Athletic wing that can get to the rim/paint. Has a nice build with good length. Strong two-way player who can get after it on defense. Can consistently knock down the mid-range jumper. 

6’11, F Derrick Quansah (Village Christian)- Quansah blocks shots, he runs the floor well for size and is an excellent passer, he handles the ball very well and can lead the break off of rebounds, he has good hands and shows a soft touch around the paint. He can finish with contact down low.
