Oak Hill guard Cam Thomas talks recruiting
If there was a shot to be made at the Bojangles Bash then many counted on Oak Hill guard Cam Thomas to deliver. After a 33 point explosion against Ridge View, HoopSeen caught up with Thomas to get a recruitment update.
Q: What programs have offered you so far?
Thomas: "ACC, SEC schools such as NC State, Florida, Miami Pitt Wake Forrest, Oregon just to name a few."
Q: Are there any programs that have been floating around and showing a high level of interest in you?
Thomas: "A few schools, Clemson. Clemson has been showing interest to my mom and texting her. North Carolina. UNC called me once. They said they were interested and they're going to wait to get to know me first but its a few high major schools."
Q: You had it rolling tonight, especially from deep. Do you feel like that's your best skill at the next level?
Thomas: "Strongest point I bring to the next level is me just being able to score the ball. Not just a shooter as people try to make me to be. I'm just a 3 level scorer. I feel I'm the best scorer in 2020."
Oak Hill guard Cam Thomas is showing off an elite stroke off the bounce. Almost to the point of counting every attempt as automatic.

Q: From the programs you've talked to, or even the staff here at Oak Hill, what feedback have you been given to improve your game going forward?
Thomas: "I'm just going to work to get better at everything. I can't stop working on one thing and then work on something else and then get complacent on that one thing so I work on everything."
Q: What schools have you visited so far and which ones are on your short list to set up visits too?
Thomas: "The only school I visited officially was NC State this year and I'm going to look to take more in the spring. After City of Palms and into the spring"
Q: How was your experience at NC State?
Thomas: "It was a great visit for my first visit. Just to see how they interacted with their players. How they interacted with me. How they run their practices and just how they are as people. So it was just a great visit."
Q: Describe the interactions between you and coach Keatts. Hows the recruiting processes been with him?
Thomas: "Coach Keatts is a great guy. That's my guy. He's been recruiting me hard since the 9th grade so he's just been a big blessing for him to stay interested in me for this long."
While there are plenty of scorers throughout the 2020 class, Cam Thomas looks to make a strong push to be considered as the best. A soft shooting stroke has landed him several high major offers with another semester to go in his junior campaign. Thomas averaged 20.9 ppg on the EYBL this past season with Boo Williams.
