Auburn lands commitment from Jaylin Williams
Auburn hosted a big recruiting weekend on the Plains this season, and, as expected, the Tigers came away with a commitment. 2019 Nahunta (GA) Brantley County forward Jaylin Williams made his verbal pledge to Auburn just before leaving campus from his official visit.
"I chose Auburn because I felt like it was the best fit for me and my family," Williams told HoopSeen.com. "The coaching staff has always been in touch with me since my freshman year."
A big part of Williams' commitment came down to Auburn's proximity to home and it's similarity to his hometown around Brantley County.
"Auburn isn't really a big place just like my hometown, so I think I'll be very comfortable living there. It's not too far from home, either."
Williams, a versatile, 6-foot-7 forward, shined on the travel circuit this spring and summer with Game Elite. His hard-nosed attitude and physical brand of play should fit hand-in-hand with what Bruce Pearl has thrived on in the past. He is one of the toughest players in the country.
Williams also considered Georgia, Mississippi State, and St. John's.
He is the fourth commitment in the Tigers' 2019 class, joining Isaac Okoro, Babatunde Akingbola, and Allen Flanigan.
