Luke Anderson says yes to Iowa State
2019 Lakeland (FL) forward Luke Anderson made his verbal pledge to Iowa State over the weekend, a source told HoopSeen.com on Sunday. The skilled forward was on campus for his first - and final - official visit.
"It was a home feel and the players love to work," Anderson told HoopSeen.com. "I could just see that Iowa State was where I wanted to be."
Anderson, a 6-foot-7 shot-maker, will instantly make the Cyclones better next season when he steps on campus. His ability to stretch the floor and make shots will open things up for Iowa State's talented guards. Anderson's well-rounded game will also cause fits in the Big 12, as he is a multi-positional player that can do just about anything on the floor.
While on campus over the weekend, Iowa State's energetic fan base won over the Florida native.
"Iowa State has the best fans in the country and they are literally crazy about basketball. I saw that this weekend."
As we outlined last week on our Visitors of the Weekend feature, Iowa State was the first high-major program to begin pursuing Anderson last summer. In the end, Steve Prohm's diligence and early pursuit made the difference in the senior's commitment.
Anderson chose the Cyclones over scholarship offers from Georgia and Minnesota.
He joins Mercedes Leech in Iowa State's two-man recruiting cycle. They are also pursuing a handful of other recruits, including Kentucky guard KyKy Tandy.
