Introducing the HoopSeen Class of 2020 National rankings
The class of 2020 has serious star power at the top. Serious star power. Ranking the top 25 players in the class was a challenge just because of the sheer volume of talent there is. We made it through, however, and we are excited to present our first public ranking for the 2020 class.
The class of 2020 has so much star power at the top, we believe the top three players on the list could all contend for the top overall position in the class of 2019 nationally.
CLASS OF 2020 NATIONAL TOP 25
EXAMINING THE TOP FIVE
Upon first glance of California big man Evan Mobley you know pretty quickly that he’s a unique player and prospect. The 6-foot-10 big man was the best player that we saw in Las Vegas last month and he shined on the big stage. The Southern Cal commit has a NBA game that can go inside and out. He’s the best modern day big man in the amateur game and he’s still getting better. His resumé is chalked full of championships. We play to win the game, right?
Anthony Edwards is a modern-day version of Dwayne Wade. That’s high praise, yes, but it is also the direction the Atlanta native is trending. He’s one of the toughest guards to the rim we’ve seen in over a decade. Edwards was the Most Valuable Player on the Under Armor circuit this season.
Florida forward Scottie Barnes has been on our radar since we first saw him at the CP3 Rising Stars camp in 2016. He’s grown into one of the most versatile players in America. He had moments of brilliance at the Nike Peach Jam with Nike Team Florida and wowed the crowd alongside his talented team Vernon Carey, Jr., who happens to be our No. 1 overall player in the class of 2019.
Jalen Green of Fresno, California is ranked No. 1 by a number of national ranking services and we see why he’s held in such high regard. The 6-foot-5 wing is crafty to the rim and really good with the ball in his hands. He has takeover ability.
There were moments at the Nike Elite 100 camp in St. Louis back in June when we wondered out loud if Brandon Boston is the overall No. 1 player in his class. You could still make an argument that he’s the No. 1 overall prospect in the class.
We will unveil our 2020 National Rankings this week. Who do you think the top overall player is in the country?

THE PEACH PROSPECTS
There are three players from the state of Georgia inside our top seven. That’s quite a feat for the state of Georgia. This trio of Edwards, Boston and big man Walker Kessler could be the same special trio that we saw back in 2004 with Dwight Howard, Josh Smith and Randolph Morris.
Edwards and Boston, as we discussed above, are special prospects. Kessler is the prototypical NBA big man in today’s game. He can shoot, rebound, block shots and guard multiple positions for a player of his size and stature.
McEachern/A.O.T. point guard Sharife Cooper checks in at No. 22 overall on the list, making it four player from Georgia within the coveted top 25 spots nationally. He was absolutely brilliant at the Peach Jam and the entire EYBL circuit this season.
TOP 25 TAKEOVER
Team Takeover won the Peach Jam and the D.C. area program won’t let up next season. The swoosh squad returns a ton of talent to the roster next season. Three players inside our top 25 rankings for the class of 2020 are Takeover players.
Big man Hunter Dickinson (No. 17), point guard Jeremy Roach (No. 18) and wing Earl Timberlake (No. 23) all had tremendous showings on the travel and individual camp circuit this spring and summer.
EXPANSION COMING
Just like our 2019 rankings, we will add to this initial list of 25 as the fall moves forward and we see more players at national camps and high school events. Check the link often for updates.
