UT-Chattanooga had a successful day on the recruiting trail on Wednesday, as 2019 Knoxville (TN) Grace Christian Academy guard Grant Ledford made his verbal pledge to head coach Lamont Paris and crew. 

"I decided to commit to UT-Chattanooga because it felt like the right place and it felt like home to me," Ledford told HoopSeen.com. "After lots of thought and prayer and talking with my family, I felt like this was the place I needed to be at."

Paris, the Mocs' second-year head coach, followed Ledford closely during the April evaluation periods and made him a priority from day one. In fact, Paris and his staff were at many of the Tennessee Bobcats games during the Atlanta Jam.

"I have a great relationship with Coach Paris and the rest of the staff and feel like they can develop me into the best basketball player I can be. I just knew I needed to go there."

Ledford should be an impact player when he first steps on campus. At 6-foot-5, the combo guard has a skilled and polished perimeter game. The rising senior showcased his shooting and scoring ability at the Atlanta Jam, as he solidified his spot as one of the top shooters in the South. Throughout the spring, Ledford primarily played on the ball, allowing spectators to see his ability to play with the ball in his hands and be a point guard. However, in a talented league like the Southern Conference, he will be one of the league's most dangerous scorers behind the arc for years to come. 

Ledford is Chattanooga's first commitment in the 2019 recruiting cycle.
