Rodney Howard to Ole Miss
Rodney Howard, 6-foot-10 forward from Centinnial High School, has been one of the most sought after bigs in the 2019 class here in the Peach State. He was a relative unknown this time last year as he had not been playing basketball for very long. Coaches saw the potential in him but no staff more than that of Ole Miss.
"From the beginning, they saw the potential in me," Howard said. "Anytime I would do something good they would send me a text saying that they knew I was capable of this all along".
Howard had several high majors suitors, many of which tracked him closely during the first two live period events. When asked why Ole Miss over some of the other programs Howard said; " I feel like coach Davis is going to get us into the NCAA tournament. Another big thing for me was hearing that Terence Davis was going to be coming back. I felt like that gave us another chance.
New Ole Miss assistant coach Ronnie Hamilton was also mentioned as a big factor into his decision making. "Coach Hamilton would text or call me every other day and every chance he got he would come to my school"
"UGA was a close second for me". "It may have been different if Xavier or Georgia Tech would have offered by I was going to wait months for someone that was unsure about me"
