Visitor of the Weekend: Immanuel Quickley to Kentucky
Another big weekend of college football action brings another big weekend of official visits for basketball programs across the country.
This week, our visitor of the week is focused on one of college basketball's blue-blood programs, as Kentucky is set to play host to elite point guard Immanuel Quickley.
Quickley, a 6-foot-3 point guard, has long been considered one of the top backcourt prospects in the 2018 class. In fact, the Baltimore native may be the best point guard prospect the class has to offer.
Kentucky head coach John Calipari has been no stranger to talented point guards throughout his coaching tenure. From Derrick Rose and John Wall to Tyler Ulis and DeAaron Fox, the Hall of Famer has a proven track record of producing high-level point guards.
With that being said, Quickley's official visit is definitely a big deal - and it's an even bigger deal because the Wildcats have been seen as the clubhouse leader for quite some time.
Kentucky is the unanimous favorite to land Quickley, according to the 247 Sports Crystal Ball. In fact, his commitment has been viewed as a "when," not "if" decision.
Quickley has already taken an official visit to Kansas, and his visit to Miami was delay because of Hurricane Irma last weekend. Unfortunately for Jim Larranaga, the Hurricanes may never host Quickley for an official visit. His recruitment could be wrapped up soon.
Quickley won't be along this weekend, either. Huntington Prep's Keldon Johnson, who had an impressive travel season with Boo Williams, will also make the short trip to Lexington for his official visit. He was originally scheduled to visit Florida State this weekend. The Wildcats have made a splash in Johnson's recruitment since offering a scholarship a few weeks ago.
