When NC State hired Kevin Keatts to take over the men’s basketball program, college basketball pundits knew it wouldn’t take long for him to have the Wolfpack in with the blue-chip prospects. 

Keatts didn’t waste any time after moving to Raleigh from a successful career at UNC Wilmington. NC State is in the mix for some ringers. Perhaps the biggest ringer, and I mean that literally, is coming to town this weekend. Virginia native David McCormack 

Keatts can recruit. Understand this. For NC State, landing a stud in year one of the Keatts regime is paramount. We know Duke and North Carolina are going to always be Duke and North Carolina on the recruiting trail. 

And coming off the heels where Wake Forrest landed a five-star guy like Jaylen Hoard, you better believe NC State isn't going to miss out on the fun. 

McCormack is one of the best big men in the class and a bit of a throwback type of player. Now NC State will have to hold off some ringers. He has an official visit scheduled with Kansas, too. Duke is a major player as is Oklahoma State, UCLA and Xavier. 

McCormack is an anchor prospect with an old school game in a new school game for big men. He’s a grind it out and win with strength in the low blocks can of post player. You can build with a player like McCormack on board. He’s a big man players want to play with. 

That’s why he’s our Visitor of the Weekend. Can NC State pull it off? Don’t discount the Wolfpack in this race. 

Moreover, don’t discount the Wolfpack in other recruiting battles. Five-star wing Keldon Johnson was on campus last weekend. He’s high on the program. So is Immanuel Bates, a 6-foot-9 big man from Fayetteville (NC) Bates.
