As usual, our 15U division of the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions was loaded with talent. We’ve had a lot of players come to this stage and start their story at the high school level. This year is no different. Here are our first round of top performers from the 2017 tournament. 

Brandon Boston, G, Georgia Stars, 2020: He was my MVP of the 15U division and helped the Georgia Stars take home the title from the loaded age group. The 6-foot-6 do-everything prospect has been one of the best underclassmen at our events this travel season. He seems to get better and better a player and still remains way below his ceiling as a prospect. Boston continues to mix production with potential and is moving in the direction of a national prospect in the 2020 class. An MVP performance certainly helps that argument. - Justin Young 

Brandon Garcia, PG, Team Knight, 2020: What a big time player he is. Garcia was the gas in the talented Team Knight engine. He went, his team went. It was that simple at Gibbons. And Garcia proved he can go. We’ve seen several point guards from Florida come to the Tournament of Champions and leave with a big time reputation outside of the Sunshine State. Garcia is this year’s go. He has great pace to his game, plays with a nice mixture of scoring and passing and his feel is off the charts. Terrific weekend of work from the young floor general. - Justin Young

KD Johnson, CG, Georgia Stars, 2020: Southwest DeKalb has a gem in KD Johnson. A physical point guard with a winner’s mentality, Johnson proved time and time again that he has ice water in his veins. In a 56-54 win over Team Knight, Johnson buried a pull-up jumper to knot the game up at 54 and later made the game-saving stop on defense. Johnson had 15 points on the big stage. He gets downhill in a hurry and finishes through contact. His fiery competitiveness is a welcome sign for a player his age. - Kyle Sandy 

Marcus Niblack II, CG, Showtime Ballers, 2020: One of the best scorers in the 15U age group, Niblack was a blur with the ball. He scored in a variety of ways but did his best work as a three-point shooter and a crafty finisher around the rim. Niblack averaged 21 points a game over the course of the tournament and had a 31 point game mixed in that production. Overall, it was a stellar weekend for the young Floridian. - Justin Young 

Dwon Odom, SG, Atlanta Celtics, 2020 (pictured above): No surprise here. Odom was one of the best overall players in the tournament, regardless of age. His first step is ridiculous and that allowed him to score whenever and however he wanted against the field. Odom is one of the best scorers in his class nationally and hit comes easy to him. He’s a rim attacker extraordinaire. Few do it better than him. Odom does a fine job of getting to the lane and he’s starting to really come on strong as an aggressive on the ball defender. - Justin Young
