There were quite a few standouts in the 14/15 and under division of the 2017 HoopSeen Atlanta Jam. Here are a few of the guys who made a name for themselves over the weekend.

15U Top Performers

Johnny Kittles, Team Power, PG, 2020

Johnny Kittles proved that he can score at will and from multiple spots. The 6 foot PG with a nice handle blew by defenders and finished well at the rim, and also stretched the floor with a nice outside shot. He put up 24 on a very good Tennessee Fury team and had 19 in tough loss to Reach Higher Kings.

B.J. Marable, EOTO, PF, 2020

The boards belonged to EOTO PF B.J. Marable every time he stepped on the floor. With good size and strength, Marable proved to have a nose for the ball, scoring a ton of points from offensive rebounds. Footwork is also a big part of his game. Marable showed some great moves in the paint, putting up 20 points in EOTO’s matchup with Team Power.

Malik Cooper, Below the Rim, SG, 2020

While listed as a SG, Malik Cooper initiated Below the Rim’s offense and made his presence felt. In a physical game with Kingdom Warriors Academy Friday night, Cooper had 27 points in the 2^nd half/OT. Draining 3s were a big part of his game over the weekend, but Cooper had no problem getting to and finishing at the rim.

14U Top Performers

Trey James, Team Manimal, C, 2021

Standing at a towering 6-10, Trey James, a center out of Kentucky was simply a man amongst boys over the weekend. His size and length devastated would-be scorers as he chased down shots all the way out to the 3-point line, swatting 7 shots in a blowout versus Below the Rim. Rebounds were effortless for James and he snagged double-digit boards in multiple games. He’s got some work to do offensively as far as moves in the paint, but James has immense potential.

Brody Peebles, Pro One Select, SG, 2021

Brody Peebles a SG out of Alabama continued to be an offensive juggernaut at #ATLJAM. Consistent double digit scoring is no problem for the 6–footer. His dominance over the weekend included an outing with 32 points and an offensive clinic in the Select’s tournament opener in which he dropped a smooth 41 points.

Konata Werts, RSD Red, PG 2021

It’s hard to confine Konata Werts of RSD Red to one position because he could do it all. From catching the ball on the block to pulling up from 15 feet in transition, Werts showed that he was one of the most versatile players in the tournament. He had 14 against a smaller Mississippi Hawks team Friday night, but hit his stride later in the weekend, putting up 20 on a scrappy Warner Robbins All-Stars squad.
