Georgia Elite Preview team evals: Team 3

Our annual Elite Preview took place on Saturday at Kell High School and the camp was filled with talent from the  2018, 2019 and 2020 classes. Our staff of coaches and evaluators collectively broke down each player in recaps. We continue our team by team evaluations from the camp today.

I thought he was one of the top overall players at the Elite Preview. The 6-foot-2 guard was really good off the ball screen and he made open shots all day. Broadnax has great vision and is very sound defensively. I like his feel and approach to the game. There is never a rushed sense to his play, always in control. When we build out our class of 2019 depth chart in Georgia, he’ll be high on the list of the top players and point guards in the Peach State. - Justin Young

The strongly built guard out of Augusta played as his frame suggests: physically. The 2018 Aquinas guard loves to get to the rim, where he can absorb all types of contact for finishes while drawing fouls. He had a big year this year in 1-A Private and he continued that good play at Elite Preview, setting himself up for some looks this spring. Physically speaking, he is built to step onto a college floor right now and compete. Moreover, he was one of the most coachable players in the entire camp. - Carter Wilson

Holden has become known as a 2018 wing who plays hard and loves to be aggressive in attacking the rim. While he did that at the Elite Preview, it was his ability to shoot the ball from the perimeter that stood out. He was consistent in knocking down shots from three, adding another dimension to his offensive abilities. With that new addition to his arsenal, he could be a very dangerous player and certainly one to watch this spring. - Carter Wilson

No one used the stage to their advantage quite like the class of 2018 guard did. The Canton Creekview guard knocked down jumpers all day long. He showed off his high level shooting skills from all spots on the floor. Not super explosive, but uses angles and changes speed to be effective off the bounce. His vision was above average as a point guard. He will  need to improve and put more effort on the defensive end. That said, Jenkins is shifty and moves his feet well. Jenkins could finish in traffic, too. He was a top performer from camp and should be a guy that sees his recruitment take off.  - Justin Young

The 6-foot-7 forward from Woodward Academy gave us a good first impression. This was the first time many of the staff saw him and he didn’t disappoint. Powell has good hands and soft touch around the rim. He was active on the glass. The class of 2019 forward will need to develop his ball skills moving forward. He will play with the Atlanta Celtics 16 and under team. - Justin Young

An elite offensive rebounder, Taylor scored on second chance opportunities in the low blocks. The 6-foot-7 forward was active in the paint and saw moments to be impactful in his role. He has great hands and alters shots on defense. As he improves his ball skills and his consistency with effort, his potential will yield more to production. There is a lot to like with this budding 2020 prospect. - Justin Young

Williams was one of the lesser known guys at the Elite Preview. The East Coweta 2018 wing did not shy away simply because of that. He made his presence known by getting in plays, playing with energy, and mixing it up physically. I’m not sure that a player got to the free throw line more on the day than Williams. With his size, length, and physical abilities he is a college prospect who made a name for himself this weekend. - Carter Wilson
