2016 City of Palms filled with star power

The City of Palms tournament tips off on Friday in Fort Myers, Florida and HoopSeen.com will once again be at the loaded event.

Tournament organiser Donnie Wilkie set the bar high for the 2016 field and didn’t hold back. He was able to corral seven of the top eight ranked players in the HoopSeen125 for the class of 2017.

Wendell Carter (No. 1), DeAndre Ayton (No. 2), Mo Bamba (No. 4), Hamidou Diallo (No. 5), Trevon Duval (No. 6), Kevin Knox (No. 7) and Collin Sexton (No. 8) will all be in the City of Palms Field.

Talk about star power.

There are 33 players that are ranked inside our HoopSeen125 rankings that are in the 2016 field. The three best big men - Carter, Acton and Bamba, the three most exciting players in high school hoops are in the field - Duval, Sexton and 2018 forward Emmitt Williams.

Fans that make it out to Fort Myers to the new Florida Southwestern basketball arena will have a chance to see some of the most exciting players in high school basketball. And we’ll have you covered from Saturday until Wednesday.

Like every year at the City of Palms, there is an opportunity for magic in every match-up.

Perhaps the most intriguing match-up of the event is Hillcrest Prep (AZ) against Westtown School (PA) on Sunday at 5:20 in the Signature Series. This game pairs Ayton and Bamba in a head-to-head battle of the nation's top big men.

There are 12 teams from Florida, four teams from Georgia (the most ever from the Peach State at the City of Palms), two from New Jersey, Tennessee and Pennsylvania, and one team from Alabama, Arizona, Connecticut, Illinois, Texas and Washington D.C.
