Wheeler Hoops Classic is up next
The Wheeler Hoops Classic comes to the new gym on Holt Road on Saturday, December 3 for a full day of great high school hoops. HoopSeen will be on hand for all of the action and have you covered in real time on Twitter.
FOUR THINGS I’M EXCITED TO SEE
- The Collin Sexton show. We can just repeat this all season long. The Alabama-bound guard from Pebblebrook is the most entertaining player we’ve seen in Georgia since Lou Williams.
- Columbia. The Eagles have the talent to be a state championship level team in AAAAA and with Dr. Phil McCrary back at the helm of the Decatur program, expectations are understandably high. Shiloh will be a great measuring stick game. Both teams will defend and boast a roster full of players who won’t back down from defending.
- Gainesville. The Red Elephants may just be one of the five best overall teams in Georgia. The Hall County team looked great at the Jared Cook Classic. The roster is filled with great size and length at all five positions. Benji Wood’s squad will have their hands full with Huntsville (AL) Lee.
- The nightcap pins Wheeler and Greenforest against each other. Greenforest, the Class A Private state champs last year, is running the gauntlet early this season. The Eagles played Norcross and Westlake last week at Holiday Hoopsgiving, going 1-1 at the event. Wheeler lost to Vashon from St. Louis last weekend and would love nothing more than picking up a win against a quality opponent like Greenforest. This game features no less than eight Division I players.
