Georgia Fall Preview: Team 3 Evals
Our annual Georgia Fall Preview camp was packed with talent across all 16 teams that competed. We roll out our player reports with help from our team coaches and staff of evaluators. We continue with Team 3.
Conyers, GA
Peyton Barman, SG, Pike County, 2018: A strong-bodied wing that played hard from tip to finish, shot well when the opportunity presented itself and shined as a passer in the haflcourt. Liked the energy level the most. Was always in competition mode. - Justin Young
Christian Connor, SG, Shiloh, 2018: The 6-foot-2 guard played well and surprised defenders with his range. He did a nice job of scoring from the perimeter. Like all Shiloh players, Connor played with good energy. - Justin Young
Cameron Gaines, SF, Rockdale County, 2017: A long and wiry 6-foot-6 wing, Gaines has the physical tools to catch your eye. Thought he was good on the glass and showed flashes of production when attacking from the wing to the rim. He has long strides that allows him to gain a lot of ground without that much effort. Gaines will be a senior season sleeper to watch for college programs. - Justin Young
Jahnile Hill, SG, Manchester, 2018: Hill is a player that we became very familiar with over the course of the travel season. He is a guard with a lot of quicks that can put the ball on the floor and get into the lane to create production for himself and his teammates. He should make an impact this year on a good Manchester Blue Devils squad that made it to the AA state championship game a year ago. - Carter Wilson
Tyson Jackson, PF, Creekside, 2018: We’ve always been intrigued by his ability and as he continues to get older as a player, the layers of intrigue start to peel back and we see the production come into play. One of the better big men in the event, Jackson found his moments to shine. Consistency will only help his further growth as a prospect.- Justin Young
Skylar Lara, CG, Corner (AL), 2018: The 5-foot-11 guard limited mistakes by playing within his game. He powered his way past and through defenders to get paint touches with the dribble drive. We asked the players to play tough and liked what Lara did in that regard. - Justin Young
Kenneth Lee, SG, Creekside, 2018: There was a comfort level with Lee as a shooter. He was always looking for an opportunity to spot up and shoot off a drive and kick from one of his teammates. He also showed an ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim. - Justin Young
Lamont Smith, SG, Duluth, 2018: Smith is growing more and more into a true point guard. His understanding of how to run a team and set the table is becoming very apparent. The scoring aspect of his game is still there, but he is picking his spots right and making more savvy, high IQ plays when they are called for. As his understanding for the game continues to grow under the new staff at Duluth, he could have a very good year for the Wildcats. - Carter Wilson
John Ward, SF, White County, 2017: Two things that are guaranteed from Ward every time he steps on the floor: he is going to play hard and he is going to play tough. The White County forward is not afraid to mix it up in the middle and compete for rebounds through contact. He is a good athlete and can finish plays at the rim as well. He is a very consistent player who plays the game the right way. Division II teams should be kicking the tires here. - Carter Wilson
