Getting the chance to settle down a bit after a hectic summer, a string of months that brought great success and a plethora of high-major scholarship offers, Luka Garza has begun to focus more on his college recruitment. The 6-foot-10 center out of the Team Takeover program has become valued for his pick and pop abilities but also his versatile low post game and because of it, has received priority attention from practically every high-major conference throughout the eastern portions of the United States.

A product out of the DMV region, Garza comes in your throwback variety at the center position. While he isn’t an extreme athlete, he does play angles well around the basket as he can score over either shoulder in the lane, yet has the range on his jumper as he can extend the defense with the perimeter attempt whenever his feet are set. The Maret School star is a producer on the glass, just as well, where he carves out his space and has the hands and reaction skills to come up with his fair share of rebounds in any given contest.

The interior producer is already a bit more ahead in his recruitment compared to some of his others peers in the 2017 class as he has already taken official visits to Alabama and Iowa, trips that took place in June. He has remained open to the process as recent offers have come in from Georgetown, Notre Dame, and South Carolina, though Garza does hope to cut things down here soon. “I will probably cut it down before the end of August to maybe a top eight or ten,” the Takeover product stated.

That isn’t to say that Garza doesn’t have his eyes on future visits as two are looming in the coming weeks. “I haven’t locked in every visit yet but most likely I will an official visit on September 9 to Georgia, and September 17 to Notre Dame,” he told HoopSeen. “I am going to take a couple of unofficial visits along with the officials to Princeton, Pitt, Georgetown, and back to Alabama. I’m not really sure yet.”

Expect for further time to pass before any type of commitment takes place but now with four of his five official visit schools known, for even greater attention to be given to the multi-dimensional center out of the Maret School in DC.
