14U #BOTS Championship: Team Carroll 62, High Hoops 55
Willie Screws came on strong late in the second half and Keonte White was named MVP as Team Carroll held off High Hoops after seeing their lead cut to two with just over five minutes to play. High Hoops threatened to grab its first lead of the second half behind the play of Cayden Baker, but Screws came to life with seven second half points after a quiet first 16 minutes. Screws finished with nine points and eight rebounds while White added 12 points, five rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks to counteract Baker’s 22 points and 12 rebounds.
Team Carroll used a balanced attack with its strong guard play. Holt Bashinsky scored a team-high 14 points with 10 coming in the first half. Trey Bonham added 11 points and Evan Carter and De’Marquiese Miles pitched in nine and eight points respectively. Bradley Luttrell netted nine points in support of Baker for High Hoops.
