The process of picking the right school and situation for himself was daunting for Jonathan Joseph. However, after a little research on the internet the Florida native decided to stay in the Sunshine State.

Joseph committed to Stetson over North Carolina A&T and Campbell. The Orlando native was sold after Googling the Hatters coaching staff.

“The coach and the staff were impressive,” Joseph said. “I know I will be developed as a player.”

The 6-foot-5 Joseph is an athletic, defensive player with a high motor and the ability to score in the open floor. He also is long and loves to compete. His best attribute is his hunger to learn and really develop as a player, hence the decision.

However, the Orlando Chrisitian Prep senior wasn’t going into his selection unprepared. His research on new Stetson head coach Corey Williams was intrigued with the resume and experience. Williams collegiate and professional playing experience, including being the teammate of NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan. Follow that with the success as an assistant college coach, along with his defensive philosophy sold Joseph on the Hatters.

“From the jump I really liked it there,” Joseph said. “It did take me some time with the decision because I really liked A&T.”

Being away from was not a concern for Joseph. He just wanted to make his commitment was one he was comfortable with. Considering his playing style and desire to contribute right away, Stetson just fit.

“I could see myself there for four years,” he said.
