JUCO Jam coming to SSA
Junior college teams from across the South will fill the courts at Suwanee Sports Academy on Saturday for the CBHoops JUCO Jam. The one-day event is a chance for JUCO teams to have real-time opportunities to test out their roster before the official start of the 2013-2014 season.
Event organizer Corry Black has a number of intriguing prospects coming to town across 24 teams.
Here's a look at what could be five of the best teams that will be in the field.

East Mississippi has Devonta Pollard (pictured above) on the roster. Does the name sound familiar? It should. The Mississippi native spent last year at Alabama. Teammate Avery Woodson, a 6-foot-3 freshman guard, is known for being a shooter. Black says Woodson is coming to Atlanta from the University of Memphis, where he was taking a visit.
Daytona State has a deep roster with a nice mike of high-major, mid-major and low-major prospects. Freshman Black calls Tanksley Efianayi, a 6-foot-6 forward, a "big-time player" while 6-foot-8 sophomore Will Ransom is a hot target for a number of mid-major plus programs.
Georgia's Gordon College has quickly emerged as a prospect factory. Sophomore Denarious Lockhart, a 6-foot-9 big man, blew up last week at Black's Columbus JUCO Jam. Florida Atlantic transfer Devonte Thornton, a 6-foot-8 big man, is also intriguing as is former Florida Gulf Coast recruit Jordan Neff.
Georgia Perimeter big man Shane Henry, a 6-foot-8 combo forward, will have a number of high-major schools watching him.
Wallace Hanceville boasts a quality sophomore point guard in Marcus Johnson and 6-foot-8, 230-pound big man Quinterian McConico is a physical post that will have coaches interested.
There is, of course, a host of other talented players coming through the JUCO Jam on Saturday. HoopSeen.com will be on hand to see the action and have live tweets from the event.
