Chris Duarte makes resurgence during EYBL Atlanta
2017 Troy (NY) Redemption Christian wing Chris Duarte was sidelined at the beginning of the EYBL season because of a broken nose suffered during the first stop in New York. His injury forced him to miss the remainder of the two live periods, as well as some time following.
However, during the final EYBL session in Atlanta, Duarte, a 6-foot-5 wing, showed his resurgence and showed flashes of being back to 100%. The native of the Dominican Republic was impressive during a matchup with Team Penny, as he finished with 20 points and five rebounds.
Because of his broken nose, things have been quiet on the recruiting front for Duarte. Several programs were expected to watch him during the live periods and potentially extend scholarship offers. With that being said, July will be crucial for Duarte.
“Chris has offers from South Florida, Seton Hall, Tulane, Saint Louis, and Old Dominion,” New York Lightning coach Dana Dingle told HoopSeen.com. “He has plenty of other schools interested, too. It’s just a matter of him showing them in July.”
Duarte entered the 2017 HoopSeen national rankings this week at No. 114.
