Brandon Williams becomes a Pac-12 priority

Playing up a year on the gantlet that is the Nike EYBL, Brandon Williams has used the platform appropriately this past spring running alongside such elite level recruits including Brandon McCoy and DeAndre Ayton. Sure, you could throw out nearly anyone onto the floor and look good playing with the two, top-five recruits in the 2017 class, yet the Cal Supreme sophomore has continued to display immense potential along with steady production.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, the Crespi Carmelite High standout has seen his stock explode in recent weeks. Getting the starting nod for the Cal Supreme crew, Williams has bought into his role as a floor setter of sorts, a guy that gets everyone into the proper place before executing his team’s offensive set. That isn’t to say that the 6-foot-2 guard can’t speed things up where he has elite quickness and excellent breakdown abilities, skills that enable for the west coast recruit to get to the basket with ease.
Sporting a super heady and mature approach at the lead guard spot, Williams has posted excellent averages in his inaugural campaign on the EYBL circuit this spring. Averaging nearly nine points and over three rebounds, along with an impressive three-to-one, assistant-to-turnover ratio, the fact that the sophomore value guard can value the basketball, with such great usage, as he plays overs 20 minutes per contest, is quite impressive.
Due to his solid numbers, excellent feel for the game, and production at the lead guard spot, offers have begun to trickle in. “I have five offers,” the Cal Supreme guard said. “USC, UCLA, California, Grand Canyon, and Arizona,” Williams stated in regards to those that have jumped on board in pursuit of the 2018 prospect.
While things are just beginning for the California native, there is one school that may have an upper hand. “When Coach Miller called me and offered, I was so happy. I had the biggest smile on my face,” Williams told HoopSeen. “I think I am going to take a visit for the Red and Blue Scrimmage in October.”
Whichever the case, Williams tracks as a top-50 recruit and will be placed accordingly within next week’s updated 2018 HoopSeen Rankings. In the meantime, expect for some of the top programs across the nation to get involved with the prospering lead guard hailing from Los Angeles.
