Georgia Cup IV Championships: Middle & Elementary School Divisions

14U ORANGE: EOTO 47, DREAM CHASERS ACADEMY 41

Donte Harris powered EOTO with 19 points including 11 coming in the fourth quarter to put the game away.

Joe Anderson added five points and played a key role with heavy pressure defense up top in the half court. Skylar Adams notched six points in the win.

14U BLACK: HIGHER POWER 48, MTXE BLUE 47

It was one of those games that would come down to the final possession to crown a champion in the 14 and under bracket of the Georgia Cup IV. MTXE had a couple of opportunities but High Power held strong on the defensive end and claimed a well-earned 48-47 victory.

Big man Nasir McClain scored 21 points for Higher Power, including 11 in the back-and-forth fourth quarter. Paul Harrison scored 14 in the championship game. McCain and Harrison combined for 15 of the team’s made 16 field goals.

Tucker Kelly scored 11 points to lead MTXE. Ryan Newell added eight points in the defeat.

13U: GEORGIA STARS HARRIS 41, GAME ELITE 39

Back and forth they went, all the way to the final seconds of the 13U championship game. In the end, it was the Georgia Stars Harris squad that brought home the trophy.

The chore to win the 13U division wasn’t easy either for the Stars. The squad had to win three games on Sunday and did so in impressive fashion.

Corey Johnston led the Georgia Stars with 18 points in the win. Jaylin Williams added eight points.  “Taco” Shomik scored a team-high nine points in the defeat for Game Elite.

12U: TEAM HORNETS 34, GAME ELITE 30

After playing each other in the opening pool game of the Georgia Cup, the Team Hornets and Game Elite championship game for the 12U title game was going to be a fun one. And you better believe it lived up to the hype.

Team Hornets won 34-30 and the battle was beyond entertaining. The Greenville, South Carolina based program won the fourth quarter and ultimately held up the Georgia Cup IV trophy high at the end of the game.

Dario Webb led the Hornets with 18 points and scored from all over the floor. Josh Sapp scored seven points while Savion Brown added six.

Game Elite was paced by great team play all week long. Juvon Gamory scored six points in the title game to lead the team.

11U: TNBC 41, ALL IN 25

This particular TNBC program may need to rent out storage space for all of the Georgia Cup trophies the program has earned over the years. The Atlanta-based program brought home another one on Sunday afternoon with an impressive 41-25 win over All-In.

Chris Anderson led the way with 18 points and Karris Bilal 11 points (three made three-pointers).

All In had a great weekend in the age division. The north Fulton based program was paced by Cade Simmons, who led the way with nine points (on three made three-pointers) and Caleb Downes added six in the title game.

10U: ALL IN ELITE 45, ATLANTA SELECT ROSWELL BOMBERS 37

All-In Elite harassed the Atlanta Select Roswell Bombers all game, collecting 23 steals led by Trajen Greco’s seven.

All-In led 23-18 at the half and pulled away in the third quarter, using a 7-0 run to start. Greco finished with 20 points and nine rebounds in his flirtation with a triple-double.

Tahai Morgan provided 14 points, five rebounds and three steals inside for All-In. Cole Wicker led the Roswell Bombers with eight points and seven rebounds. Kaden Jameson pitched in seven points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals.
