Tyson adds first scholarship offer
2018 Monroe (NC) Piedmont small forward Hunter Tyson was one of the best prospects in the 16U division of the Atlanta Jam last weekend. In fact, he was one of the top performers of the event.
The 6-foot-7 forward has great range on his shot and can stretch the defense with his shooting ability. He is extremely skilled and is very fluid with his game. Several college programs are interested, but the sophomore landed his first scholarship offer Thursday, as Appalachian State made their pitch.
“It feels great to have that first offer under my belt, but I’m excited to and glad to know the hard work is paying off,” Tyson told HoopSeen.com.
Appalachian State stopped by his school on Wednesday. They were joined by Davidson and Tennessee, as well as Elon on Tuesday. Tyson lists interest from a variety of other schools, too.
“Davidson, Charlotte, Virginia, Tennessee, Wake Forest, UNC-Asheville, Mercer, William & Mary, and Clemson are some of the schools interested in me.”
With his size, skill level, and ability to shoot, more and more schools are expected to join in the mix for Tyson.
